"Life is lived forward, but understood backward. It is not until we are down the road and we stand on the mountain looking back through the valley that we can appreciate the terrain God has allowed us to scale.” Jill Savage

Baba Ram Dass and some other quotes to think about this Saturday

Back to Saturday Meditations - I've been saving some favorite quotes and thought I'd list a few to ponder over . . . any thoughts or opinions?

If you think you're free, there's no escape possible.
- Baba Ram Dass

I have learned through bitter experience the one supreme lesson: to conserve my anger, and as heat conserved is transmitted into energy, even so our anger controlled can be transmitted into a power... - Mahatma Gandhi

The soul would have no rainbow if the eye had no tears.
- Native American proverb

Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
Andy Rooney
There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.
- Leonard Cohen
Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish it's source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.
~Anais Nin
As I go through today I'm going to think about these ideas. Don't you love the first one by Baba Ram Dass? Your mind is such a wonderful place!

These are great! I especially like the Andy Rooney quote. It's not the destination but the experiences on the way there.

They say "Don't shoot the messenger" but I really can't think of someone who is more of a malevolent fruitcake that "Baba Ram Dass," aka Richard Alpert!!!
