"Life is lived forward, but understood backward. It is not until we are down the road and we stand on the mountain looking back through the valley that we can appreciate the terrain God has allowed us to scale.” Jill Savage

Meditations for Saturday

From William Londen via Chet Day's newsletter:

To insure good health: eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately, cultivate cheerfulness, and maintain an interest in life.

I have made a decision to get back to stillness - meditation - for just ten minutes a day! Why? Because it makes your life better and you feel stronger. I need that!

Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart." ~ Confucius

Happy birthday to - Rita Hayworth - beautiful woman - gifted actress -

In 1976 at London's Heathrow Airport, Hayworth was removed from a TWA flight during which she had an angry outburst while traveling with her agent. "Miss Hayworth had been drinking when she boarded the plane," revealed a TWA flight attendant, "and had several free drinks during the flight." The event attracted much negative publicity; a disturbing photograph was published in newspapers showing her looking very disheveled, sad, lost, ill, and barely recognizable.

Rita Hayworth's drinking problem confused her family, friends, colleagues—and even doctors—who were unable to immediately recognize Alzheimer's disease. "For several years in the 1970s, she had been misdiagnosed as an alcoholic."

Sometimes things are not as they appear.

Love,
Chatty

Alzheimer's is a sad disease for both the person who has it and the loved ones who watch the decline of someone they love. We spent ten years taking care of my MIL. It was sad and lonely for all of us. I hope they find a cure soon not something to arrest the progress.

It's so true, that things are not as they appear.

Lots of good living lessons in today's post, thanks dear!

Stealla - to tell you the truth I get scared sometimes when I have senior moments. It is scary. My mom had a series of strokes that left her similar - but not exactly. I am sorry about your MIL. One of my Blog buddies - A Mountain Too High is taking care of her husband now.

Corgidogmama - Did you get your pinky dog yet? It is true - things are not always what they appear to be - but you can make life better with work.

Wow, I didn't know she had Alzheimer's - back in the 70's I think people were referred to as being senile.
