"Life is lived forward, but understood backward. It is not until we are down the road and we stand on the mountain looking back through the valley that we can appreciate the terrain God has allowed us to scale.” Jill Savage

Meditations for Saturday

This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor...Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. - Rumi

Here's another good one to think about today and it is so true:

Mickey Mantle, observed this late in his life: If I knew I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself!

Well, October is a busy month for Chatty and family off to the Fall Festival at my grandson's school- maybe I'll bid on my own baskets (lol) - hope they will make lots of money. Then this afternoon is Trunk or Treat at our church. People decorate the trunks of their cars and all park in the parking lot and give out candy. For the adults there is a chili cook off.

Happy Birthday - Jiles Perry Richardson, Jr.- The Big Bopper -

With the success of "Chantilly Lace", Richardson took time off from KTRM radio and joined Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Dion and the Belmonts for a "Winter Dance Party" tour. Richardson, Holly, Valens, and the pilot were killed when their small plane crashed soon after taking off from Clear Lake, Iowa on February 3, 1959. Don McLean referred to it as "The Day the Music Died".

You never know the difference a day makes. Oh to remember that . . .

Love,
Chatty
