Stars

"Billions and billions of stars and planets out there, and behind them all are God." ~ Billy Graham

I told this to my grandson one night when we were out - we were looking at the stars and he was telling me where the Big Dipper was (?) - anyway he loves the stars - and I told him this quote - and we both felt amazed at the awesomeness of it.

I do believe Billy Graham is a wonderful man.

Petula Clark - Happy Birthday

In 1968, NBC-TV invited Clark to host her own special in the U.S., and in doing so she inadvertently made television history.

While singing a duet of "On the Path of Glory," an anti-war song that she had composed, with guest Harry Belafonte, she touched his arm, to the dismay of a representative from the Chrysler Corp., the show's sponsor, who feared that the brief moment would offend Southern viewers at a time when racial conflict was still a major issue in the U.S.

When he insisted that they substitute a different take, with Clark and Belafonte standing well away from one another, Clark and her husband Wolff, the producer of the show, refused, destroyed all other takes of the song, and delivered the finished program to NBC with the touch intact.

The program aired on April 8, 1968, with high ratings and critical acclaim, and it marked the first time a man and woman of different races exchanged physical contact on American television.

Love,
Chatty

Now here is another "Star"

The stars and the moon often are popular with young ones. We use the moon reference to our grandson when he needs to look at something in the sky. "look for the moon, Jack."

I heard her the other day on the radio, and remembered way back when...when I thought that she was terrific.
YOu're just like Paul Harvey with the rest of the story...these are such interesting tidbits. I don't know how you find them! The stars in the heavens are always amazing, and it's always worth it to look up, isn't it?
Glad that you're teaching Andy to look up too!
