"Life is lived forward, but understood backward. It is not until we are down the road and we stand on the mountain looking back through the valley that we can appreciate the terrain God has allowed us to scale.” Jill Savage

Sunday's View

It's funny - I've said this before, but the person below says it better. If you look out - you can see man made things and you can see God made things. Men's things are so rough looking, God's things are so soft looking. Take the Sky vs a telephone pole for example. When you look out and see this don't you KNOW there's a God - you have assurance that you are NOT alone in the world.

“Every now and again take a good look at something not made with hands: a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There will come to you wisdom and patience and solace and, above all, the assurance that you are not alone in the world.” Sidney Lovett/minister

There are a lot of famous birthdays today.

Laura Ingalls Wilder and Almanzo Wilder. Happy Birthday Laura Ingalls.

Happy Birthday Charles Dickens:
“Whatever I have tried to do in life, I have tried with all my heart to do it well; whatever I have devoted myself to, I have devoted myself completely; in great aims and in small I have always thoroughly been in earnest.”

Happy Birthday Garth-Brooks
The-Dance

Looking back on the memory of The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything For a moment wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

And power lines are the perfect example of man's efforts to create something functional with no thought of aesthetics. When considering the beauty of the earth no doubt we're reminded of God's majesty.

Hi Sandie: I loved Laura Ingalls' books. Happy Birthday Laura, wherever you are. Good photo of the wires vs. sky! I tried to click the blank box but didn't come up with anything. Will try again later as I'm on my way to church. Take care and have a great Sunday! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com

Sandie once again you have said it all, All one has to do is look around, look at the great wonders of the world, the giant mountains, the little babbling brook, the tiniest flower or the largest tree, or better yet look into the face of a new born child or look into the eyes of a child filled with wonder when they hold a puppy or a bug, to truly know there is a GOD, a wondrous awesome God.

I love Garth's song the Dance, I had a friend, that was going through a terrible divorce several years ago, say that when he got down and would say I wish I'd never met her, he'd listen to this song and it reminded him of the good times or "dance" he'd missed if he'd never met the mother of his son.
It is really a beautiful song. Life is what it is and we have to except the good and the bad, for if we try to make sure everything is always perfect before we fall, we will miss the good along the way.
I hope you have a great day.
I feel some what better.
Will talk to you later, headed out right now.
Thank you for being my friend, you don't know how much I appreciate
Molly it.

Yes, God always does it better.

You know, it's funny when reading your poem, I realize my Presbyterian upbringing leads me to believe that nothing is left to chance or luck. I even have a hard time saying, good luck. I say it to be polite, but I guess I should just say, "I wish you well." It will be interesting one day when the Lord reveals what was His perfect plan for things against the way man has taken things and either messed them up or gone with God's way. But His way is always infinitely better, for the greater good and for our individual good as well.

I can think of instances where I barrelled ahead with something out of His will (not bad things, just life things), but I would get that "check" in my Spirit ahead of time, and sure enough, I would end up somewhere down the road in a situation I wouldn't like. If only I would STOP, look up at the sky, and realize that He created it and that man created the wires. Oh, how much better off I'd be! How much better off we would all be! Me thinks that Laura was a person who followed after God.

Thanks for this, Sandi...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hey Sandie!

That is what I love about living in the country. We get to see so many things that God made. There's nothing like it. It is so peaceful and restful where I live. I just love it!

I think that is the first picture I've ever seen of Laura Ingalls Wilder! And for Garth, well, I thought the world of him before he left his wife for Trisha. My sister went to a concert and got to go back stage. I have a picture around here somewhere of her with Garth and his wife Sandy.

Hope you have a Great Day!
Angela

Just because something looks blank it doesen't mean it should be ignored. You might find a great treasure. I liked your blank. Stella
