Saturday's Something to think about . . . .

If you have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down.

- Mary Pickford

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.

They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.

Then, to every one's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.

He was astonished at what he saw.

With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.

He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.

The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.

Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.

We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up!

Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

Live simply and appreciate what you have.

Give more.

Expect less

NOW ........... (And this is a joke . . .)

Enough of that ...The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him.

The gash from the bite got infected and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes back to bite you!

Happy Birthday Neil Sedaka - from WIkipedia

Sedaka attended Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, graduating in 1956. He has been married to his wife, Leba (Strassberg), since 1962. They have two children: a daughter, Dara, a recording artist and vocalist for television and radio commercials (who sang the female part on the Sedaka duet "Should've Never Let You Go"), and a son, Marc, a screenwriter who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Samantha and three children.

My husband and I got engaged in 1973 after a Neil Sedaka performance at Golf Mill (in Des Plaines, Illinois) in 1973!

I saw him sometime in the 80's, his daughter sang with him in our little town of 18,000, where the kids and I lived for twenty years. Always loved Neil Sedaka, and his songs still get to me.
Did you know that there is a new Shrek movie coming out in May? It's supposedly the best one yet!
Still rainy and gloomy here, hope that your day if full of sunshine.
We're still here, so there is reason to celebrate! Still time for second chances~
Hugs.

Hey Sandie!

That is a funny story about the donkey! It reminded me of Shrek too! lol We have all 3 of them on dvd. Just read Corgidogmama's comment that there is another one due out in May! I sure hope so!

So Neil Sedaka moved your husband to propose to you! Did he get down on bended knee? Was he planning on asking or was he just all love sick after going to the concert? hehehe Inquiring minds want to know!

Hope you have a Great Day!

How cute with you and your hubby getting engaged after a Neil Sedeka concert; I saw him on the Huckabee show a few months ago and enjoyed his album he had put together for kids taking his songs and putting kids words to them; hard to imagine he's a grandfather

hoping your Saturday is a good one :)
