Something to think about Saturday

Two of the greatest qualities in life are (and friends who help complete the pot of soup)

1. Patience

2. Wisdom

3. Stir in a cup of viewing life with a sense of humor and some chocolate chip cookies. (Stella)

4. All made more fun in the process with a little humor along the way. (Noni at the Brick Stress Bungalow).

Gee I liked, no loved Mr. Rogers - Wikipedia - Happy Birthday.

Fred McFeely Rogers was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a town located 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. He was born to James and Nancy Rogers; he spent many years as an only child. Early in his life he spent much of his free time with his maternal grandfather, Fred McFeely, who would later move to Florida, and had an interest in music. He would often sing along as his mother would play the piano, and at the age of five, he began to play the piano as well.

At Rollins College, Rogers met Sara Joanne Byrd, an Oakland, Florida native. They married on June 9, 1952. They had two children, James and John, and three grandsons, the third (Ian McFeely Rogers) born 12 days after Rogers' death. In 1963, Rogers graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was ordained a minister in the Presbyterian Church. Scholastically, he went on to garner 40 more honorary degrees throughout his life. Rogers was red-green color blind, swam every morning, and neither smoked nor drank. . . died of stomach cancer a few days before his 75th birthday.

I bet he is reading to children in Heaven.........

To patience and wisdom I think I would stir in a cup of viewing life with a sense of humor. Maybe something like making chocolate chip cookies. The dough is good but Ohhh boy when you have the chocolate chips you have a cookie. Thanks for the great post. You always make us think. Stella

Too funny! So I guess now we have chocolate chip cookies. Hope too many cooks don't spoil the broth. Or is that a mixing of metaphors?

Sandi,

You would have to live in MO to understand if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes. Yes it was 70 yesterday and snowing today.

I feel that patience and wisdom comes to us as we age.
We finally, become smart enough to hurry up and wait...and keep our mouths shut when we really want to tell someone what we think!
Mr. Rogers was a sniper, and covered with tattos from his days in the service. A marine, I believe in Korea. That's why he always wore sweaters to cover them.
He was a remarkable man, who after the war, found a sense of peace and calm, and was able to grace the airways with total goodness!

Hey Sandie!

I think that you don't get wisdom until you have patience or something like that.

I didn't grow up watching Mr. Rogers. I did see a few shows though and thought he was a wonderful man.

Hugs,
Angela

I can add some crumbs to put on the top of your simmering soup.

I noticed Irma. I hope she is well behaved.
