God, if I can't have what I want, let me want what I have.

Subject: The Secret

The Secret
One day, one friend asked another,
'How is it that you are always so happy?
You have so much energy,
and you never seem to get down.'

With her eyes smiling, she said,
'I know the Secret!'
'What secret is that?'
To which she replied,
'I'll tell you all about it,
but you have to promise to
share the Secret with others.'

'The Secret is this:

I have learned there is little I can do
in my life that will make me truly happy.
I must depend on God to make
me happy and to meet my needs.
When a need arises in my life,
I have to trust God to supply
according to HIS riches.
I have learned most of the time
I don't need half of what I think I do.
He has never let me down.
Since I learned that 'Secret', I am happy.'

The questioner's first thought
was, 'That's too simple!'
But upon reflecting over her own life
she recalled how she thought a bigger house
would make her happy, but it didn't!
She thought a better paying job
would make her happy, but it hadn't.
When did she realize her greatest happiness?
Sitting on the floor with her grandchildren,
playing games, eating pizza or reading a story,
a simple gift from God.

Now you know it too!
We can't depend on people to make us happy.
Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.
Trust HIM!
And now I pass the Secret on to you!
So once you get it, what will you do?

YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too!
That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU!
But it's not really a secret.....
We just have to believe it and do it...
Really trust God!

Do your best; let God do the rest.

Today I pray your troubles be less,
May your blessings be more,
and May nothing but happiness
come through your door!!
Amen

Happy Birthday:

Truett Cathy is the 236th richest man in America and the 799th richest man in the world according to Forbes magazine. He is estimated to be worth $1.2 billion. And still such a wonderful human being.

Albert Einstein experienced internal bleeding caused by the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which had previously been reinforced surgically by Dr. Rudolph Nissen in 1948. He took the draft of a speech he was preparing for a television appearance commemorating the State of Israel’s seventh anniversary with him to the hospital, but he did not live long enough to complete it.

Einstein refused surgery, saying: "I want to go when I want. It is tasteless to prolong life artificially. I have done my share, it is time to go. I will do it elegantly." He died in Princeton Hospital early the next morning at the age of 76, having continued to work until near the end. Einstein’s remains were cremated and his ashes were scattered around the grounds of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, New Jersey.

During the autopsy, the pathologist of Princeton Hospital, Thomas Stoltz Harvey removed Einstein’s brain for preservation, without the permission of his family, in hope that the neuroscience of the future would be able to discover what made Einstein so intelligent.

He was dyslexic.

Great post today Sandie!

I can't believe they took Einstein's brain without getting permission from the family! That is just not right!

Hugs,
Angela

I never knew that about Einstein...I wonder what they did with his brain...if they ever did study it or if the family objected.
Cornell University has a big center where they have all important brains that they have studied....I find that a bit interesting...Hope your Sunday was peaceful....

I totally agree that we need to trust God, he really knows what is best for us. But sometimes it is just soooo hard to do so (at least for me)
