An Amazing Video - An Amazing Man

An amazing autistic boy. So how good is your memory?

"The body says what words cannot." ~ Martha Graham

A disability does not mean someone is dumb - it means they learn differently. This is National Awareness of Autism Month.

Happy Birthday Dudley Moore - Wikipedia

Do you remember circumstances around his death. I believe the tabloids called him a drunk, etc. He had a terminal disease kind of like Parkinson's and had nothing to do with his being drunk.

"In September 1997 Moore underwent quadruple heart bypass surgery in London, and subsequently suffered four minor strokes.

On 30 September 1999, Moore announced that he was suffering from the terminal degenerative brain disorder progressive supranuclear palsy, some of whose early symptoms were so similar to intoxication that he had been accused of being drunk , and that the illness had been diagnosed earlier in the year.

He died on 27 March 2002, as a result of pneumonia, secondary to immobility caused by the palsy, in Plainfield, New Jersey. Rena Fruchter was holding his hand when he died, and she reported his final words were, "I can hear the music all around me." "

He loved music since he was a little boy, I'm glad he heard it again.

"I listen to my words, but they fall far below./I let my music take me where my heart wants to go." ~ Cat Stevens

Great video - it shows such talent can come from someone thought to have a learning disability - they just learn differently!

Interesting about Dudley M. - never knew that about him.

Beautiful.
I think that is how I feel about my art.

I wish you could have been with us in Maryland, too. The women who were at lunch were as nice and thoughtful as I had expected.

Another totally uplifting post! It also teaches that people shouldn't judge others without knowing the person and the facts of the matter!

I also love your quote about Autistic people... almost as much as I loved my autistic children that I worked with over the years...
