$86.000,000.00

Look at this - powdered aspirin - now they say to keep some with you and by your bedside. If you have a heart attack or stroke you may want to take aspirin until you get to the hospital. Powder dissolves and gets into the blood stream faster than a pill.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!!!

Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest:

Each morning your bank would deposit $ 86,400.00 in your private account for your use.

However, this prize had rules, just as any game has certain rules.

The first set of rules would be:
1 Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you.
2 You may not simply transfer money into some other account.
3 You may only spend it.

Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $ 86,400.00 for that day.

The second set of rules:
1 The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, "It's over, the game is over!"
2 It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted, right?

Not only for yourself, but for all people you love, right?

Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every cent, and use it all, right?

ACTUALLY, THIS GAME IS REALITY!!

Each of us is in possession of such a "magical" bank.

We just can't seem to see it.

THE MAGICAL BANK IS TIME!

Each awakening morning we receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us.

What we haven't lived up that day is forever lost.

Yesterday is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time...

WITHOUT WARNING.

What will you do with your 86,400 seconds?

Think of this: Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, and enjoy life! This was sent to me from my Mr. Mom friend and I thought it was really good to think about this.

Knitty at Lazy Days wrote about this and it was so ironic that last week at our luncheon we all decided that 30 - 40 and 50 was okay - but 60 is throwing us for a little loop. When you get to be 60 - YOU KNOW - there is no pretending - that the life after 60 will be less then the life before 60.

We decided we wanted to use it more wisely - have more friends - do more things - we've mellowed out more - not as rushed - we don't get mad as much - and more. We have to use our 86,400 seconds wisely every day. It is a gift.

Happy Birthday Irving Berlin Wikipedia

He wrote hundreds of songs, many becoming major hits, which made him "a legend" before he turned thirty. During his 60-year career he wrote an estimated 1,500 songs, including the scores for 19 Broadway shows and 18 Hollywood films, with his songs nominated eight times for Academy Awards.

Berlin's songs have reached the top of the charts 25 times and have been re-recorded countless times by singers including Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt, Rosemary Clooney, Diana Ross, Bing Crosby, Rita Reys, Frankie Laine, Johnnie Ray, Al Jolson, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald.

Composer Douglas Moore sets Berlin apart from all other contemporary songwriters, and includes him instead with Stephen Foster, Walt Whitman, and Carl Sandburg, as a "great American minstrel" – someone who has "caught and immortalized in his songs what we say, what we think about, and what we believe." Composer George Gershwin called him "the greatest songwriter that has ever lived", and composer Jerome Kern concluded that "Irving Berlin has no place in American music - he is American music."

Great post Sandie! I think I'll have to check that aspirin stuff out. Living pretty far from a hospital that sounds like a great idea to keep some on hand at all times!

Very interesting post! Today is going to be a lazy rainy day so I suppose I'll be wasting some of my seconds today just sitting around being lazy. But I do need it so!

Hugs,
Angela

Hi Sandie! Each new day is a gift...that's why they call it the "present." I love that expression...not my own, but good. I really do think life is precious and every second counts. Thanks for the reminder. Sincerely, Susan

I am going to check that asprin out. My hubby wouldn't be alive today if he hadn't had asprin in his truck when he had a heart attack. And I am trying hard to live every minute of today I have company coming Thur for a week. Have all the hardwood mopped, dusted, washed sheets in the guest room, and mowed the lawn. And it's only noon so I can go plant some flowers. Have a fun day enjoying every second that has been gifted to you.

Loved your post. IN 1991, I lost my husband who was killed in an auto accident. I had injuries. You never know when we will this earth. Within 1 hour leaving home to Tenn. my husband was dead. He never made it to the hospital. Don't assume that we have time to do this and that. Tell your family and friends you love them. yes, Iwould like to be connected up with some Ga. bloggers. Have a good day.

Great post, Sandie. We truly do not know what every day holds in store for us, so we have to make the most of the time we do have!!

Very good thoughts! Does your "Mr. Mom" have a website by that name? http://mrmom.amaonline.com/ If he does, then small world... he is a really dear friend, and I'll have to tell you about him sometime. If you've never been to this website, I highly recommend it.

This post really gives of something to think about. I waste to much of my time and keep putting things off.. the seconds in my life need to be improved upon.

Here's a poem my mother made us memorize (about a million years ago): I have only just a minute; only sixty seconds in it; forced upon me, can't refuse it. Didn't seek it, didn't choose it. But it's up to me to use it.
give account if I abuse it. I have only just a minute. But eternity is in it!

Really the same thing as your post! And to think i still remember it after all this time ;>) And yet, I'm still a champion time-waster anyway.

Sandie! What a wonderful, wonderful post! I think the aspirin idea is genius, too. I'm going to look for that at the store.

And I just spent 39 seconds wisely commenting to a friend!

Good morning!
