My First Try at Pink Saturday . . . I'm officially a pinkie!

I have loved Pink Saturday at Beverly's for a long time - I've always wanted to jump in, but it seemed overwhelming - now I'm ready - ready to become pink. Thanks also to 'Simply Debbie' who gave me the encouragement to do it and the direction.

Pink isn't my favorite color (it's my second favorite or third or maybe I just like all colors - lol), but I love it none the less.

Everything looks better pink. It feels feminine. It feels safe. I can breathe better and relax deeply with pink.

And pink does make the world feel and 'look' better.

I'll tell you what makes you feel better as well as looking out of pink colored glasses at the world

“Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier. ” —Albert Schweitzer

Happy birthday to Art Linkletter - wikipedia

Linkletter had one of the longest marriages of any celebrity in America, at over 74 years. He married Lois Foerster on November 25, 1935, and they had five children: Arthur Jack (known as Jack Linkletter, a TV host), Dawn, Robert, Sharon, and Diane. He was also a good friend of Walt Disney.

Linkletter outlived three of his five children. His 20-year-old daughter, Diane Linkletter, died on October 4, 1969, by jumping out of her sixth-floor kitchen window (while a student at UCLA). Linkletter claimed that she committed suicide because she was on, or having a flashback from, an LSD trip, but toxicology tests done after the incident detected no signs of LSD use. Linkletter spoke out against drugs to prevent children from straying into a drug habit. His record, We Love You, Call Collect, recorded before her death, featured a discussion about permissiveness in modern society. It featured a rebuttal by Diane, called Dear Mom and Dad. The record won a 1970 Grammy Award for the "Best Spoken Word Recording".

His son Robert died in an automobile accident on September 12, 1980.
His son Arthur Jack Linkletter, (1937–2007), died from lymphoma.

I really really liked this man. Remember his show where he'd ask children the question - What did your parents tell you not to tell me? He's a fellow pinkie!

Sandie, What a wise group of sentiments! I enjoyed eahc one.
YOur rose colored glasses remind me to look with innocent eyes and not synical ones! To see things for the beauty and basic truths they are... good and bad.
And even to revel in the little pink things in life.
Very profound morning and great to visit you!

So glad you made the jump into the pink waters. Welcome!! It's nice to have you here.

I love the dogs with the rose-colored glasses!! Too cute.

I vaguely remember the Art Linkletter Show. My grandmother used to watch it...after she watched The Edge of Night. So when I was at her house, I watched both of those shows.

Have a lovely day,
Patti (Fill My Cup with Beauty)

Do you know, I have my name because of the Art Linkletter Show?? Dad watched it and saw a little girl that was so cute - her name was Monica Marie McCloud. Mom wanted to name me Elizabeth, but dad said no. "Monica" will be her name, and so that was the whole story. It was told to me many times, and makes me wonder whatever happened to the little girl I was named for??

Art Linkletter is another of my very favorite people. I saw him just recently on a TBN Praise the Lord Show. He is a wonderful Christian man who has been through so much, but still love God and uses his trials to help lift other up. I loved his TV Show with the little kids and we watched it every week.

He has always reminded me of my Daddy too, to that is another reason that I love to see him!

This is an extremely belated Happy Pink Saturday to you, Sandie. I have been so busy with work that I can hardly get around to visit. But, I do want you to know that I am happy you joined us. I am so glad Debbie encouraged you.

I love your post, and I would most like looking through the rose-colored and heart-shaped glasses. Actually, I am a firm advocate of having a positive attitude. We each have to make our own happiness, and making the world a better place for others is a sure path to joy.
