Our new addition . . .Show and Tail

I am joining Angela today over at her Show and Tail. Please come over to visit and then share a story about your pet.

Now my daughter and I are called Lucy and Ethel a lot by my husband. Sometimes she is Lucy and I'm Ethel or vice versa.

This time I think I was Lucy (I hate to admit that). I love animals and I want a dog so very bad. I think every little boy (and family) should have one and I just want my grandson to have this experience.

So . . . we got a dog. Yes we did. And yes, I might be allergic, but I am going to do my best and this time go see an allergist and get shots. I'm committed.

He's two years old - Disco - he's potty trained :) - and he's a rescue dog - and we love him to death already.

So I feel this is kind of silly, but if you'd send up a prayer and ask God to not let me be allergic this time - I'd appreciate it. I know he has bigger issues to deal with. . . but this is really important to us.

So now I am going to have 3 GRANDSONS and something to write for real on Angela's blog!

Isn't that the sweetest pciture ever? Thanks for your prayers for us.

Happy Birthday to Nancy Reagan - wikipedia

During her career as an actress, Nancy Davis dated actors in Hollywood; she later called Clark Gable, whom she dated briefly, the nicest of the stars she had met.

On November 15, 1949, she met Ronald Reagan, who was then president of the Screen Actors Guild. Nancy had noticed that her name had appeared on the Hollywood blacklist and sought Reagan's help to maintain her employment as a guild actress in Hollywood, and for assistance in having her name removed from the list. Reagan informed her that she had been confused with another actress of the same name.

The two began dating and their relationship was the subject of many gossip columns; one Hollywood press account described their nightclub-free times together as "the romance of a couple who have no vices". Ronald Reagan was skeptical about marriage, however, following his painful 1948 divorce from Jane Wyman, and he still saw other women.

After three years of dating, he eventually proposed to Davis in the couple's favorite booth at the Beverly Hills restaurant Chasen's. They married on March 4, 1952 in a simple ceremony designed to avoid the press at the Little Brown Church in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. The only people in attendance were actor William Holden, the best man, and his wife, the matron of honor.

The couple's first child, Patricia Ann Reagan (better known by her professional name, Patti Davis), was born on October 21, 1952. Their son, Ronald Prescott Reagan, was born six years later on May 20. Nancy Reagan also became stepmother to Maureen Reagan (1941–2001) and Michael Reagan (born 1945), the children of her husband's first marriage to Jane Wyman.

The Reagan family in 1967, shortly after Ronald Reagan's inauguration as Governor of California Observers described Ronald and Nancy Reagan's relationship as intimate.

As president and first lady, the Reagans were reported to display their affection frequently, with one press secretary noting, "They never took each other for granted. They never stopped courting." Ronald often called Nancy "Mommy"; she called him "Ronnie".

While the President was recuperating in the hospital after the 1981 assassination attempt, Nancy Reagan wrote in her diary, "Nothing can happen to my Ronnie. My life would be over."

In a letter to Nancy, Ronald wrote, "whatever I treasure and enjoy … all would be without meaning if I didn’t have you."

In 1998, while her husband was afflicted with Alzheimer's disease, Nancy told Vanity Fair, "Our relationship is very special. We were very much in love and still are. When I say my life began with Ronnie, well, it's true. It did. I can't imagine life without him."

Nancy was known for the focused and attentive look, termed "the Gaze", that she fastened upon her husband during his speeches and appearances. President Reagan's death in June 2004 ended what Charlton Heston called "the greatest love affair in the history of the American Presidency."

Now that was a sweet story.

I don't think it's silly to pray that you can stay healthy, no prayer is too small. I have even been praying that Rissa's little kitty Callie will get well she has been sick for a couple of weeks and Vet can't find anything wrong.
I know your DS will spoil his new puppy rotten.

Disco is so cute! I wish you many happy years together. I'll pray for you too.
Lilly is a rescue dog too. She is so loving. Every dog we've had through the years has either been given to us or has come from the animal shelter. I'd probably have a lot more pets if I had the space and money to take care of them. Pets bring lots of happiness and give lots of unconditional love!! :)

Oh Sandie! That little Disco is darling with the grandson! I hope and pray you can be ok with him! Some dogs don't shed so they are good choices. Is he a terrier? He has those cute pointy ears! My son has a rat terrier and a Boston Terrier that he found wandering this weekend. I think that little guy is blind in one eye. Drat! But I need to post my tail post! Have a super week! Anne

HI!!!
My grand daughter would LOVE for me to get a dog too, I have never owned a dog or a cat, my family had pets, but none were mine, I never wanted to take care of one. I am allergic to cats, so I have often thought dogs maybe too, I do take an allergy pill everyday now, it is easier to handle then taking them when needed.
I take claritin or claritin D, if stuffy, I take the D.
The Grand Canyon is so GRAND!!!!
You are Lucy , and I love her!!!!
Her daughter in law is my blogging friend!!!Remember AMY ARNAZ???
She is so sweet!!!
hugs,
jamie

Oh what I cute dog! I do hope that you aren't allergic to this one! You are a brave woman to get one with such allergies. Does he know any tricks since he is older? I'll bet Andy is having a great time playing with him since he is such a small dog that he can carry him around.

Prayers that you won't have to take shots!

Tuesdays' Show & Tail!

I remember seeing this yesterday on my Dashboard, Sandie; I must have got distracted and that's why I didn't read it yesterday (senior moment again LOL)

Disco is adorable!! every prayer and matter is concerning to God; he knows your heart and he knows you are worried about it so might as well pray about it, right? Will keep you in my prayers.

I love the picture of him and GS "bonding" and loving on each other! I do hope it works!!

dog probably is still checking out the landscape so to speak and might be a bit nervous being in his new home; I'm sure he'll catch on really quickly about potty training at your house!
