Sunday's Gift to you . .

Slipping on my shoes, boiling water, toasting bread, buttering the sky: that should be enough contact with God in one day to make anyone crazy. - Hafiz

Happy Birthday to Walter Payton - wikipedia

Walter Payton (July 25, 1954 – November 1, 1999) was an American football player who spent his entire professional career with the National Football League's Chicago Bears. Walter Payton was known around the NFL as "Sweetness". He is remembered as one of the most prolific running backs in the history of American football. Payton, a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, once held the League’s record for most career rushing yards, touchdowns, carries, and many other categories. He was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993. Hall of Fame NFL player and coach Mike Ditka described Payton as the greatest football player he had ever seen—but even greater as a human being.

Payton began his football career in Mississippi, and went on to have an outstanding collegiate football career at Jackson State University where he was an All-American. He started his professional career with the Bears in 1975, who selected him as the 1975 Draft’s fourth overall pick. Payton proceeded to win two NFL Player of the Year Awards, and won Super Bowl XX with the 1985 Chicago Bears. After struggling with the rare liver disease primary sclerosing cholangitis for several months, Payton died on November 1, 1999.

We lived in Chicago when the Bears won the Superbowl and everyone did the Super Bowl Shuffle. It was so exciting - they played it every day at the elementary schools and the kids got so excited.

We lived near him in Illinois and he was nothing but a wonderful man.

I agree with Nancy. Great video and thanks so much for sharing it. I do think similar thoughts, especially when I am in Lower Manhattan and realize how easily it all can be lost.

Good Monring Sandi Sweetie...

A beautiful share of Baxter Black. Just beautiful. Makes you so proud to be American. Just beautiful.

I love the comic strip too. That is a good question. Why does the waitress/waiter get 15% and only 10% goes to God? Maybe somebody is past due for a raise?

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday sweet friend. I love to stop by here first to get my blood to flowing. Thank you for another beautiful share.

Country hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry

Sandi, you asked me how I got my doctor to take off work for fatigue. I just told her my symptoms and I looked quite pitiful when I saw her. After doing a bunch of blood tests, she told me it was mental and physical exhaustion and I was to stay off work a week and not do anything stressful Only do resting and relaxing things. I just know if you are exhausted and you don't slow down and rest more, you will be in a world of hurt. All those things you feel you need to do are not necessary. You just think they are. Stop all the unnecesarry thing and rest. God bless and thank you for your kinds words.

Yeah, why does the waitress get 15% but God only get 10%?

That video just reminds me how blessed I am - to be born in America.
Have a great day!

Totally loved that video, Sandie. I so hope that the majority of Americans feel the same way as he does.

I certainly do.

Hey Sandie!

I myself don't think that the waitress deserves 15% either! lol Usually they don't do anything much at all. I'm one of those that if the kids make a big mess at the table I will give them a little more because they have to clean it up! lol

Great video! Thanks for sharing it with us today!

Hugs,
Angela

Thanks for a great write-up on my "Sweetness" Walter Peyton. I have ALWAYS been a huge Chicago Bears fan even though a Louisiana girl and the only time ever I do not pull for the Bears is when they are playing the Saints. Walter is a true stand-up guy. Love you Sandie girl, Mollye
