Monday Musings

This song doesn't really mean anything, but I heard it the other day and well, I liked it. I thought it was so filled with feelings and if you know anything about me - I'm filled with feelings. Whew. And by the way these two are boyfriend and girlfriend. Do you like it? It's a love story.

Happy Birthday to Fred MacMurray

Frederick Martin "Fred" MacMurray (August 30, 1908 – November 5, 1991) was an American actor who appeared in more than 100 movies and a successful television series during a career that spanned nearly a half-century, from 1930 to the 1970s.

MacMurray is well known for his role in the 1944 film noir Double Indemnity directed by Billy Wilder, which he starred in with Barbara Stanwyck. Later in his career, he became better known as the paternal Steve Douglas, the widowed patriarch on My Three Sons, which ran on ABC from 1960–1965 and then on CBS from 1965–1972.

MacMurray was married twice. He and his first wife, Lillian Lamont, were married on June 20, 1936, and they adopted two children. After Lamont died on June 22, 1953, he married actress June Haver the following year; he and Haver adopted two more children.

In 1941 MacMurray purchased land in the Russian River Valley in Northern California and established MacMurray Ranch where he spent his time when not making films and engaged in raising prize-winning Aberdeen Angus cattle. In line with his wishes that the property's agricultural heritage be preserved it was sold in 1996 to Gallo.

After suffering from leukemia, MacMurray died from pneumonia in 1991, aged 83 in Santa Monica. He was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6421 Hollywood Blvd.

Okay - I loved this guy too! I think he was a good guy,

Well, as you know, I have no idea what song you are talking about. It's just a white empty screen on my computer...but I will say that I am all about feelings as well. I am very easily touched by songs.

It's going to seem really strange for you to not be doing birthdays anymore after tomorrow.

I actually really like Double Indemnity. The acting is fantastic, and I think it was the performance of Fred MacMurray's career. He and Barbara Stanwyck did a Christmas-type movie together called Remember the Night. They worked very well together...had alot of chemistry.

Have a lovely week, my friend.

Hugs,
Patti

Fred was also one of the richest men in HOllywood, gained $$ from many real estate holdings, back in the day when real estate actually sold and was worth something!!!
Always enjoy your posts.

Love songs are nice, but after all is said and done and couples are married for years and years, it would be important to pull out those videos of them singing to each other as a reminder of how they once felt about one another...it's sad how quickly we forget!...or is it just life's getting in the way?
