Wednesday - Sea World

Sunday we went to Sea World - this was not a Disney event, but we had always wanted to see it. It had many different kinds of animals - not just the killer whale - but these pictures will be the killer whales. Remember the poor girl who got killed about a year ago as he grabbed her braid running down the back of her head and pulled her in the water and drowned her?
Well these girls had their hair in buns - no long hair at all down the backs.

The Killer whale is the largest fish in the sea! And it is king of all others!

They had them trained very nicely we thought.

The trainers would give little talks and information to the crowd.

Grandson and daughter taking pictures. It was so hot, but we were having a good time anyway.

We were in the soak zone and it had a covered roof and I wondered how in the world we were going to get wet!

Well, we did get a little sprinkled - not much, but when you have three huge whales splash at the same time - you do get a little splash and it felt great.

Here they showing us how big they were.

And this is my grandson's first purchase. We held him off all we could, but when he has money in his pocket - it burns a hole in it. Ten dollars and lights up. Now he knew he needed it - but where is it now?

"Don't take yourself seriously. Take what you do seriously, and find the humor in as much of life as you can." ~ Ben Affleck

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of the telescope. Which is what I do. And that enables you to laugh at life's realities." ~ Dr. Seuss

I have to tell you my GS has a great sense of humor!

Love,
sandie

Hi Sandie! Loved GS's purchase! He's such a hilarious little guy. I'd love to meet him. You know, you and your daughter are giving him ALL KINDS of life experienes. Wow wow wow He's probably going to grow up to be some kind of researcher or engineer.

Loved the photos of Florida Sea World. We went to the one in San Diego once and I loved it.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! Susan

Splash zone is a must on a hot summer day.
It would be like going to Disney and not riding It's a Small World.
Just one them must do's.

... glad Orlando was fun! My son Carl and I were at Sea World the day after the tragedy .. tons of TV crews, etc from around the world had gathered ... workers were still visibly shaken and somber.

Don't we just love taking the grandkids places? Is that a goofy hat he bought? How funny! But he sure looks like he's having a great time watching the whales! You got some great shots, even in mid-air! But my favorite is when they brought them out of the water in a row to see how big they are, they look like they are almost in the audience!

too cute what kids will spend their money on! I bet it looked cute when it lit up

interesting about the trainers wearing their hair in buns these days; that was a sad thing when it happened. I've been to Sea World here in San Diego, always so interesting to see how they can train the animals like they do

looked like a fun time was had by you all!

Our family LOVES Sea World. Actually, when we lived in Florida, we went there much more regularly than we went to Disney.

We had a friend who, back in the late 80's and early 90's was part of the waterskiing show there.

Blessings and hugs,
Patti

Totally chuckling about the grandson's hat! How fun it that?

I've never been to Sea World. I would still like to go, but now I have this little fear that something would happen in front of me. I'm a "fraidy cat" like that.

Hey Sandie!

I went to Sea World when I was a kid a few times in Ohio. Somewhere there should be a Shamu stuffed animal that I got way back then. Now I'm wondering what happened to it.

Hugs,
Angela

I looooove souvineers -- the older I get, the more important it seems to forget being practical and focus on whimsy.
I'd love to see Sea World again someday.

Isn't it fun to go places with your grandson? We took our older 3 (now grownups) to Disneyland (in CA) and SeaWorld when they were about that age -- and it was wonderful. Many local trips too. such fun to share these special adventures. I can tell your Andy is having a wonderful time.

My wife would love to go to Sea World. Me? Not so much. For they would probably frown on me carrying in a rod & reel.

Hey Sandie! I keep forgetting to tell you that your grandson reminds me so much of my youngest son, Mark, when he was that age! In his looks, I mean! PLUS, he's cute, funny, does Martial Arts, has a great sense of humor, etc!! That hat is a riot!
