Thursday - the trip ends at Bush Gardens . . . and a Luau

The last day - we drove from Orlando to Tampa. Only an hour - but a huge difference in heat. It was hot and miserable in that heat too! We thought we would be able to see the animals a little closer then this, but could not - except for the giraffes. Which was awesome.

Do you know that a giraffe's tongue is dark blue? Do you know why it is dark blue? They eat so many hours a day and their tongue sticks out and pulls the food towards them - that is why it is so long, but the reason for the dark color - is so the tongue won't get sunburned! Can you believe it? GOD THINKS OF EVERYTHING - doesn't he?

We all got to feed her leaf lettuce. She loved it.
You think that the hair would be soft - or I did - but no - it is coarse - rough.

And what color is a zebra? Black and white? WRONG! Zebras are brown and white - the brown is so jammed packed (thick) - it appears to be brown.

Now that's one big girl, but she's a beauty isn't she?
Another animal sitting around on this hot day. We left around 4pm because we had to get back to our dinner - our last dinner on the trip - a luau at the Polynesian Resort at Disney.

We arrived at the luau and my little stitch found his surf board! lol

The food was wonderful and the entertainment was awesome.
One of the best parts was this fire twirler. He was good and of course the grandson was amazed by it.

Well the trip is over - and we had a great time.

Tomorrow Fun Friday.

Love,
Sandie

Hey Sandie!

Great pictures! It has been years since I've seen any of those animals! I really need to try to get the kids to a zoo.

Looks like everyone had a great time!

Wow, this brought back some fond memories ... when we first moved to Tampa, Busch Gardens was a favorite!
I've never been to a luau -- gotta put that on the "list", huh?
