Tuesdays Show and Tail . . .

Be sure and check Angela's West Virginia Treasures - she runs Show and Tail - stories about pets or animals - please look her up and join her with your stories.

"Look deep, deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."~ Albert Einstein

Did you know . . .

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump?

Statistically people are more afraid of spiders then they are of dying.

All polar bears are left handed.

Crocodiles can't stick their tongues out.

Butterflies taste with their feet.

A duck's quack has no echos and nobody knows why.

Mosquito's have teeth.

I agree with being more terrified of spiders than death.

And I just love elephants and giraffees! Too bad elephants can't jump.

LOL! That's so funny about how the kangaroo got it's name :-)

Now, that is some interesting data. Fascinating all of it, and I knew that mosqitoes have teeth because I can feel ALL of them when they bite me! LOL! Hate them much, MUCH worse than spiders. Hate them more than roaches... well, almost! ;-) And I think if there was a nuclear explosion, roaches would survive!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love the new quote on your header!!!

How interesting those animal snippets were. And I'm rather in agreement with the spiders/dying thing, though I actually think rats and snakes even outrank spiders as the things that terrify me most.

I actually like elephants. When my kids were really little, we used to go to the zoo in Sanford, Florida. They had 2 elephants...named Maud and Mary. We used to occasionally pass by their exhibit when the man (docent, I think, is the proper title) was working on some training with them. It was fun to watch...but I never knew they couldn't jump.

Have a great day.

Love,
Patti

So all left-handed people must be polar bears ;) Suits me just fine, they're beautiful animals. Thanks for the interesting factoids.

It's a good thing elephants can't jump. Think of the impact their landing would make on Mother Earth.

Very interesting facts, and fun too. Teeth though? Wow.

This info is wild and I'm loving it!!! I'm putting the animal stuff on our church info line. You come up with the neatest things!!! But wait, you made a mistake. I can't jump!!! And I guess I'm a human animal. I love that last quote, aren't we always harder on ourselves than we ever would be to our friends?

How interesting!! My husband's a leftie, so his favorite was about the polar bear. I stuck my tongue out at him, so I guess that means I'm NOT a crocodile!!

LOL' ing...and God Bless!

Fun post! I also peeped at your previous one, Trunk or Treat! That is so original. Americans know how to have fun. Canadians are boring. Shhh! Dont let anybody know I said this!

very interesting! I'm sure everyone learned something today from your animal post!

I'm sitting here figuring out how did they guess that all polar bears were left handed. Did someone hand them something and see which paw they reached for it with?

I didn't know a lot of those animal facts. I can see though why an elephant might not be able to jump. Can you imagine the thud it would leave when it landed?

See, I KNEW there was a reason I love polar bears -- we're both left handed! Ever wonder how much $ and manpower was spent to discover that? :)
OK, I'm tired and my sense of humor's awry ... but I'm giggling over the image of people tossing a ball to the bears to see which arm they use to grab.
