Wednesday - Hump Day . . .

When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college that my job was to teach people how to draw. She stared back at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?" - Howard Ikemoto

Women are Angels:

When someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly on a broomstick... We're flexible like that.

Perhaps all the dragons of our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us once beautiful and brave. - Rainer Maria Rilke
Does anyone have an opinion of this quote?

"Snowflakes are one of Nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together." ~ Verna Kelley

You used to be an art teacher? I'll guess Rod Stewart for the grave digger. I love the snowflake and women are angels quote, but don't quite get the dragon one, though I've been reading it over and over!!!

Fun quotes and the one about "do people forget how to draw" made me smile.
Roy Orbison for grave digger is my guess.

I hate candy corn, but my kids love it, and daughter bought a big bag of it for some cupcakes she's baking this afternoon. SO...not a half hour ago, I poured the remainder of the bag into the candy dish...and now I'm looking at that cute little cartoon and thinking about all the little "corns" in my candy dish.

Maybe I'll tell my kids where those "corns" REALLY came from!!

Love to you,
Patti

Oh my goodness, the candy corn one!!!! Ewwww.

I am ashamed to admit that I don't quite "get" the dragon one. (hangs my hand...)

I think the grave digger was Billy Joel. I have no reason to think it, I just do.

Sandie - What FUN!!

OK, the candy corn cartoon is one of the grossest things I have ever seen...I loved it!

I looked up the rest of that quote by Rilke -
"Perhaps everything terrible is in its deepest being something helpless that wants help from us.”

I think that the message is we shouldn't "judge a book by its cover." Everyone has a story, and they are all beautiful in their own right. Sometimes the story is just buried underneath an ugly cover. Mean, bitter, spiteful, angry people...are really just hurt people in disguise.

Cute snowflake quote - snowflakes make snowballs, snowballs can cause an avalanche (in a good way!)

I think I remember reading somewhere that Rod Stewart was a gravedigger. (I'm not even going to touch any comment about his advancing age...)

xoxo to you!

Hopping on over to send you an email RIGHT NOW!!
(Lucky you...? :)

P.S. Just noted on your profile that you love pugs! Well, I'm a dog lover, too.

FYI - Tomorrow I'm doing a guest-post from Marty, my sons' beagle. Thought you might be interested!

I'll take Rod Stewart for 500 on grave digging. I could draw some analogy between Rod Stewart and a grave, but I'll place nice.

Horrors,

Jane

Hey Sandie!

LOL about the candy corn one! :D

That quote confused me. The one about the princesses and dragons. ???

I don't know who anyone of those people are but I'll go with Mick Jaggar. :)

I, too, am a bit confused re. the dragon and princess .... will have to spend some time pondering, won't I?
My vote's for Billy Joel!

Mick Jagger for the grave digger? that quote is interesting, I'm brain fried (worked overtime today) so I can't really think it through, know what I mean? But I liked what Sharon said about it so I'll agree with her, LOL

loved the witch and candy corn, that was too funny!!

Looking at the candy corn on that witch makes me ill...but not sick enough (probably) to quit eating it.

I had to read and re-read that dragon and princess phrase. It didn't make sense, but I understand what it's trying to convey!

Rod Stewart worked briefly as a Gravedigger!

Have a nice evening :-)
