TUESDAYS SHOW AND "TAIL"

This Dachshund is fostering this little pig for another mom who couldn't take care of him. He had his eyes closed, but now they are open. He is just a little bigger than her other pups. She loves this little guy as much as the other puppies and she is nursing him back to health. He is the cleanest pig-puppy ever because she licks him all the time.

HIS NAME IS PINK.

Now besides being as cute as a button - I do have something I learned or at least thought about from these pictures today. Look a dog being a mama to a pig! Is that not sweet?

“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope... and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.” —Robert F. Kennedy

I was thinking how when we do something for others - not even for our own family or friends, but say a stranger - (and you may never know what the affect will be down the road) - but you may be affecting lives you'll never even know. If you do something for one person - and they do something for someone else - and so forth. You don't see the so forth, but you are a part of it anyway. Does that make sense?

Kind of like say if you give to a charity or a missionary or even something simpler than that. You could even do something nice for a friend or family member and keep it a secret.

I call it the ripple effect. What we do for someone else - every though they may be different then us - you may never know where that kindness you did ends up - or what good it will do in the future - maybe you'll never find out - but does it really matter?

When you drop a rock in water and see the ripples - the ripples don't end when you can't see them anymore - they go further out then that. You just can't see it.

I'm not preaching here I'm just thinking of ways to make ones self happier - when you're doing things for others, at least for me, I don't take the time to feel bad for me! teehee So I'm going to think of something I can do today. Hmmmmmmmmmm........

Your blog is one of those ripples you're talking about. You have no idea how your thoughts and musings are affecting people who read them and see something that really strikes a chord with them. Keep up the good work.

Prayers for your son and DIL. I hope the baby arrives safely with everyone in good health. My 'earliest' baby was 7 days past due and the longest I waited for one was 3 weeks!

I will keep your son and DIL in my prayers and hope all goes well for them.

I actually thought that pig was stuffed, he was so fuzzy. Those pics are adorable. Never under estimate the power of a momma's love, even if it is an adoption.

Hey Sandie!

That is the cutest little piggy I've ever seen! So pink! It's so cute to see the little fuzzy hair on it too. What a lucky pig that a dog would take it in like that!

I'll say some prayers for sure!

Isn't that cute with the pig and dogs? Amazing that the mom just accepted him as part of her "brood". (goes to show if animals can get along like that why can't people?)

I agree with the ripple effect, Sandie. I try to live like that, some days are better than others, but it is always good to watch out and help others and hope they in turn will do the same :)

baby time almost!

I've seen these piggy photos before and they are so adorable...it's hair is glistening shiny clean....they say pigs are smarter than dogs, but I don't know that for sure. I just know that an animal is generally as smart as you allow them to be....

Yep, the "butterfly effect" operates on the same principle - everything we do impacts something or someone else - good or bad! That's cause and effect for you!

I'm saying prayers for your DIL and your grandson!

With love,
Doris and Gizzy :-)

Fantastic post, Sandie! Yes, those wonderful ripples of kindness....the paying it forward...the random acts of kindness....they all make the giver so happy...especially when it is done anonymously!
Loved the doggies and piglet!!!!

I totally get the "ripple effect" - and I think some of the ripples we cause affect the unseen world, too. Who knows what our lives of faith do to turn the tide against the enemy and his forces? After all, we are told in Ephesians that our battle is not against flesh and blood.

So, thank you for the reminder that it's important to do for others. The ripple we start could turn into God's tsunami!!

Those are about the cutest pictures I have ever seen! I could just about eat up those puppies and piggy! Too, too precious.

Will be praying for tomorrow. I know God will work this out...(literally?!?!)

GOD BLESS, my friend - keep me posted!

Hey CC....I love your wisdom...what you said about kindness is so true. I still remember those people who reached out to me and they have no idea what they're kindness has resulted in...they've given me something so huge b/c now I want to do the same to others. And got to tell you all your sidebar quotes and pics...love them....

That is a wonderful post, Sandie. We never know who is watching how we live and what kind of effect we're having on people.
We can never go wrong by being kind, and caring about others. Thank you for the reminder!
Those pictures of the pig are so adorable!!
I'll be praying for your DIL and new grandson!! How exciting!

I beleive every word you wrote. helping others like the movie Pay It Forward, that was a great movie and we should all try to do that. it does not have to be BIG just hold a door, help someone put groceries in their car, SMILE at someone you would pass by without a thought. even a compliment to a cashier if the hair looks good, light up someone's life.
a few years ago I was returning home from my sons house and tears were running down my face the whole hour drive home, when i got to the sunshine sky way toll booth, and stopped to hand her the dollar, she said the lady in front of you paid your toll and said to tell you have a nice day. my face lit up and the tears stopped,
