Wedneday - Hump Day - Chatty Thinking . .

The day that gets you through the rest of the week...

Gentle Thoughts for Today:

Birds of a feather flock together . . . .and then poop on your car.

A penny saved is a government oversight.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight...
by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

He who hesitates is probably right.

Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble..

Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs'.

Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.

You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth . . ... . . . . AMEN!

(I bolded my favorites.) You always have to laugh about getting older - why - it keeps the frown lines up instead of down, it makes you feel better, and helps you accept aging better - it's a VICTORY)! Which is true for you - your favorite - or do you have some to add?

♥♥♥

Now a quote that I liked is this:

I have known him all my life, and one day I learned his name.
- A young Chinese girl

Don't you think whether it be Jesus and or a friend - you may know then all your life - even feel friendly to a point - but until you become their friend - share information - learn who they are - share who you are - they are more of an acquaintances then friends. My point is that being a friend takes work. Do you think that is true or not?

♥♥♥

Something to laugh about:

Love, Chatty

I agree - being a friend IS work, but it's well worth the effort. I also prefer the comfort of age to the 'beauty' of youth. It feels like I've arrived - a victory of sorts.

Love the little cartoon at the bottom. LOL

I love the cartoon as well. That cute little bottom (LOL). I loved them all, and they were really funny, but I think my favourite would have to be "Ageing - eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it." LOL!
Mind you, the "A penny saved is a government oversight" is certainly true!!! Good post. Gave me a smile on this dreary day over here in England.

Sandie, These are so funny! Many favorites, but the one I really like is the Roman Numeral one. The camel and ICU were hilarious too. Being a friend is joyful work for the most part. I like it when you haven't talked to someone in a long time, and then when you do, it seems like you haven't skipped a beat. Also, you know when you meet someone for the first time, you have an assured feeling that you both will be friends forever:)

Ha ha, isn't that the truth - Algebra just about killed me.

The think I like about getting older is you don't think you have to try so hard and enjoy being. Yes, it does take time be a friend even if just means five minutes a day for a call or e-mail and most times I don't make time for that. Shame on me!

You are such a lark...I love you. Thanks so much for your care and prayers concerning the cyclone. It is overcast but fine and we missed the side effects, thank God. I am off to the Orthopod about my knee in a short while. No news about the hauter monitor for my heart? I have an appointment for that next Monday. Ray is going to the U.S. alone. I feel it is too much for me. But I am feeling much better from the rest. XXX CM

Being a friend is very hard work! You must be there during good and bad times and especially those bad times. I try to remember how I have felt after being "abandoned" during a difficult stretch and vow to not do that to "my friends". You know who your friends are after your kids grow into teenagers and one of them has a problem. Not many stick around! I guess that goes for any tough situation... Ann

Yes, I agree - but more over, being a friend means to endure and be steadfast.

I have met a lot of people who have called me friend, but eventually dwindled away or evaporated into thin air. In my experience a good friendship is established over time and that takes, well, time ;-)

I really believe being a friend takes work ... but what a labor of love!

PS - I got such a kick out of Andy's "rubber band" ruse on the kitchen nozzle. I'd have screamed for sure!

I agree - it takes work to be a friend - but it's happy work! It brings joy to your life, and contentment to your soul. (For the record, I'm sure glad that YOU'RE my friend...you are, right???? :)

My favorite? (Because it's SO true for me?)
The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

And have you noticed? 9 times out of 10, you find the "lost" thing VERY shortly after you've bought that dumb old replacement!!

You always have the best stuff, Sandie!

SOrry I'm late, but I've had computer issues and was without all day. I might be without for three weeks! I'm going to try to blog for a couple of days, but my keyboard is giving me fits. Today, it tried to turn itself on over and over and over and over again. It kept going in circles.
Sounds like my life of late. LOL!

XO,

Sheila :-)
