Tuesdays Show and Tail . . . let's talk about squirrels . . .

Speaking of love this week (yesterday):

“The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, AND to let it come in.” —Morrie Schwartz (1916-1995); educator and author

"Welcome to Tuesdays' Show & Tail! I hope everyone will join Angela at West Virginia's Treasures this week by posting a picture or two of your pets, wildlife or visit to the zoo and tell a little about them! Tuesdays' Show & Tail is about having fun, and giving us a chance to meet other pet owners in the blogging community. If you are visiting and would like to join in on the fun, please do so! Everyone is welcome. It is very easy to do. "

Now talking about squirrels - see how I just snuck this in - were we speaking of squirrels? I'm always thinking about squirrels - why - because we have an attic they love! We are two down now and one more to go (so far). We have spent thousands put flashing around the gutters - we trap them and take them far away - and sealed the hole. Hubby fell though the attic.
Just got that job done - and guess what?

You guessed it. Wish they could do something cool like this.

Or smart like this one. Well wait a minute - I do have a smart one up in the attic. Smarter then us anyway.

So that's it for Chatty Corner today - except to leave this with you.

Until tomorrow -
sandie

Regarding video clip #1: Now that's what I call a Mighty Wind!

Here's a delicious side dish that might go well with your today's "little buddy"-themed blog:

"As I walked through the woods, I looked up and saw a squirrel. I smiled and he smiled. At least I think it was a smile. My teeth were showing and my cheeks were pulled up. That's a smile, isn't it? (The squirrel was definitely smiling.)" --Jack Handey, Deep Thoughts

Oh what a pain! I have tons of squirrels near my house, but thankfully none that moved in yet, ha!

Happy Show and Tail to you dear Sandie...Well I'm enjoying your post...and I do love squirrels to a certain extent and I do have a squirrel story to tell that is quite funny. But I'm really thinking about the squirrels in your attic...ewwwwwwwwwwhhhhh they could cause some real havoc..besides "pushing" hubby through the attic floor. It could be worse(was hubby ok?)it could be bats in your bell-free? WAIT...lol...
I could almost do a Show and Tail post here....
Talking about animals...but I will close with this thought...teeee-heeee....
I wonder if the reason there are squirrels in my dear Sandies attic is because SQUIRRELS are like birds....do squirrels flock together like birds of a feather?
The squirrels seem comfortable with you Sandie...lol...giggle...giggle!

Personally I would have gone for the M & Ms, but I know Baby Ruth has peanuts, so.... I can't help it I love squirrels - I do NOT think of them as rats! Of course, I've never had them in my attic so I can afford to think of them affectionately. Love your new look! Ann

The videos are cute. Amazing how tenacious those squirrels are. I fight them getting into my bird feeders all the time. Thankfully I don't have them in the attic too.

squirrels are cute but they are pest also, eating plants and fruit and veggies. rats with tails is what hubby calls them. we do not feed them because we wish them far away. like i said cute to watch and bob does talk to the one on the fence. they are fun to watch during mating season and the 5 babies were total dolls, but then i kept thinking YIKES 5 at a time>

I can't believe that you have the squirrels in the attic again! That just reminded me of the Phineas and Ferb where Candace sings about Squirrels in her pants! lol I'm sure you've watched that with Andy many times.

Tuesdays' Show & Tail!

Hi Sandie...Oh NOOOOO. Your attic still has a squirrel in it? They are persistent little schnookies, aren't they? I'll never forget how I put my hot from the oven brownies out on our back porch to cool this winter and a doggone squirrel dug into the HOT brownies and ate half of a huge pan! I was ripped. Have a great day. susan

One Sunday morning, a chittering and scrabbling sound woke us up. we tracked it to the downspout outside. A squirrel had fallen off the roof and into the spout, where it was stuck. They love to stand on the eaves and eat the maple pods, and I still think one of the other squirrels pushed him off to get more pods. Phil took the downspout apart, the section with the squirrel inside he held upside down and shook real hard, squirrel chattering for his life the whole time. Out he came, floppy and wet, and bolted across the street. Since it was a Sunday morning, I hope he headed to squirrel church to give thanks to the great Phil for saving his little rodent life.

My daughter had one of those poles in her yard..with birdseed at the top for the birds. She lives in Georgia..
Anyway...she greased that pole and it puzzled them...but not for long...

The squirrels are two blocks from us now..and a couple of weeks ago..I saw one bounding across the street right to our line of Cypress tree along our driveway!

I have mixed feelings and I think I should probably be preparing for a squirrel war instead of thinking cute they are... :(
LOVED this post and sent it off to Georgia to my daughters office!
:) Take care..

that squirrel with the obstacle course is amazing! I laughed at the cartoon; too funny!

you are still dealing with the squirrels? I thought they were a thing of the past. I did tell you that where we used to live the neighbor next door had fruit trees to attract birds but also attracted the squirrels. He would catch them and release them and they would be back in a week or two. They are smart indeed!

I also like squirrels - except when they're acting squirrely in my attic...

Only thing worse is cats being catty, and fish doing something fishy...just sayin'
