Pigs and Peaches

I want to say I am thankful the hurricane wasn't any worse - but I know for the people it hurt - it was terrible. I'm sending my prayers out to them.

We live near Kennesaw, Georgia. Ever hear about Kennesaw? It is a law - not one that is followed - that everyone HAS to own a gun - it was mocking some other city because the law there was no on could own a gun - it was years ago but I believe it is still on record.

Being in the south - barbeques are quite the thing and let me tell you they take it seriously. As well as they take peaches serious - as we are known as the Peach Tree State and we have lots of peaches.

So what could be more normal then a Pigs and Peaches Festival? This is what we did this weekend - it was HOT, but fun.

There were rows and rows and rows of slow cookers - cooking their barbeques for the contest.

The Vets had a booth.
Of course there was a playground. We had never seen one of these before - they fill a bubble with air - the child gets in - and they put the bubble in the water.

Grandson in bubble.

Grandson in the bubble on the water - how cool is that and what will they think of next?

They let him play for a good ten minutes.

He LOVED it!

He and mom trying to touch hands.

Slides.

Oh no a shark ate my grandson.

And the best for last. A cotton candy beard.

that bubble thing is neat - altho makes me a bit claustrophobic to think about it - even if you can see thru it...

Love that cotton candy beard!! He looked to be having a great time in that bubble. We have them over here, and they roll them down hillsides!! I would never have put pigs and peaches together, but looks like it was a great Fair.

Mmmm Mmmm Mmmmm, that barbecue sounds gooooooood. Cute name, too...Pigs and Peaches. (Glad it doesn't refer to the men and women attending...ha ha ha ha)

Thanks for sharing your photos, Sandie. Looked like fun. I just recently saw those bubbles on water for the first time.

Take care and have a wonderful Monday. Susan

What a neat place, Sandie. I'm sure--even in the heat--that you all had a wonderful day... I had never seen the big bubble in the water. Kids would love that for sure...

I'll bet that BBQ was wonderful.. Yum!!!! I love cotton candy --and haven't had any in umpteen years...

Didn't know that about guns in Kennesaw.. Bet there's not much crime there!!!

Betsy

I love good barbeque! I have never seen that water bubble thing. It looked like your grandson was having a blast! My son would have loved that when he was younger, heck he's a guy he would probably still like it at 15, lol! Silly boys never grow up. :)

What a great Festival! A city near us, called Penticton, has a Peach Festival each year too. We grow tons of peaches and apples around here. I'll have to get me some Butt Rub.

What a fun fair... I like the Butt Rub!

That looks like a day of fun and yumminess.

If I thought there was going to be peach pie at that festival, I'd be there. Peach is my favorite pie.

As for the bubble thing, I think it looks dangerous. If is collapsed around a child, he'd smother, suffocate or drown.

LOVE the idea of a Pigs and Peaches festival! How fun is that?!?! I can almost smell that pork cooking. Ahhhh... Okay, that bubble kind of freaks me out. There is only so much fresh oxygen in there. I know they are only in there for a few minutes and supervised... but, my air lovin' self could not be forced in there... except maybe with one of those guns. LOL! Have a great day, Sandie! blessings ~ tanna

Oh boy, that looked like so much fun! GS was quite the bubble-master, huh?!

BBQ - OK, I'm telling "The Hub" that he has to fire up our barbecue tonight - I need a sauce fix!

A cotton candy beard - hmmm. Do you think that might hide all my little chin hairs??

:)

Looks like grandson had a wonderful time! I think I might be scared to get inside of a bubble! xo, Cheryl

Okay I'm a party pooper and would have to ask how they sanitize the inside of the bubble between participants. Looks like a big virus breeding ball to me...but a fun one.

That odor of barbeque has to be overwhelming and create some mighty big appetites:)

Looks like great fun. Our neighboring town has a Peach Festival....if they added some BBQ to it, it would be a perfect event.

I don't think you would have gotten either of my two kids in the bubble! Looks like Andy had a ball! I now want some BBQ! Such a neat festival!

Looks like everyone had fun! GS in the bubble and all that food for everyone...yum.

I soooo would have LOVED going to this festival. One thing my hubby taught me was how to have fun at the fair. I was so cheap and didn't want to spend any money on food because it was all so overpriced. Now I'm a die-hard fair-food-aholic! :)

Oh yes, I know Kennesaw! We used to live in Mableton about 40 yrs ago. We did a lot of hanging out around there.
I love the grandson in the bubble. That looks like so much fun. Oh, to be young and to know what I know now.

I would love to have one of the BBQ snacks right now...before bedtime!

You had me at the title and the last picture was just the best! My grandparents retired to Covington, Ga and my sister lived in Clayton, Ga for years so I'm very well acquainted with Georgia peaches...the pigs I always thought resided in Arkansas!
