Fun Friday with a little help from my friends.

Bubba had  shingles.   Those of us who  spend much time in a doctor's office should appreciate  this! Doesn't it seem more and more that physicians  are running their practices like an assembly line?
         Here's what happened to  Bubba:

Bubba walked  into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him  what he had. Bubba said: 'Shingles.' So she wrote down  his name, address, medical insurance number and told  him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes  later a nurse's aide came out and asked Bubba what he  had.
Bubba said, 'Shingles.' So she wrote down his  height, weight, a complete medical history and told  Bubba to wait in the examining room..

A half hour  later a nurse came in and asked Bubba what he had.  Bubba said, 'Shingles..' So the nurse gave Bubba a  blood test, a blood pressure test, an  electrocardiogram, and told Bubba to take off all his  clothes and wait for the  doctor.

An hour later  the doctor came in and found Bubba sitting patiently  in the nude and asked Bubba what he  had.

Bubba said,  'Shingles.' The doctor asked, 'Where?'
Bubba said,  'Outside on the truck. Where do you want me to unload  'em??'

Thanks Jerry and Ann!

1962 vs 2012
This should be sent only to those whose level of maturity qualifies them to relate to it...
1962: Long hair
2012: Longing for hair
1962: KEG
2012: EKG
1962: Acid rock
2012: Acid reflux
1962: Moving to California because it's cool
2012: Moving to Arizona because it's warm
1962: Trying to look like Marlon Brando or Liz Taylor2012: Trying NOT to look like Marlon Brando or Liz Taylor
1962: Seeds and stems
2012: Roughage
1962: Hoping for a BMW
2012: Hoping for a BM
1962: Going to a new, hip joint
2012: Receiving a new hip joint
1962: Rolling Stones
2012: Kidney Stones
Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things:
Each year the staff at Beloit College in Wisconsin puts together a list to try to give the faculty a sense of the mind set of this year's incoming freshmen.

Here's this year's list:
The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1994 .
They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

Bottle caps have always been childproof and plastic.

The CD was introduced 4 year s before they were born.

They have always had an answering machine.

 They have always had cable.

They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
They don't know who mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane, Boss, de plane.."

They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.
That is going to change - lol).
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

You know someone with a great sense of humor, eclectic, lover of colors, self confident, who wants to have fun must live there. I think that is so cool.

Perks of reaching 50 or being over 60; and heading towards 70 or beyond!

1.
Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

2.
In a hostage situation, you are likely to be released first.

3.
No one expects you to run -- anywhere.

4.
People call at 9 PM (or 9 AM) and ask, 'Did I wake you?'

5.
People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.

6.
There is nothing left to learn the hard way.

7.
Things you buy now won't wear out.

8.
You can eat supper at 4 PM.

9.
You can live without sex, but not your glasses.

10.
You get into heated arguments about pension plans.

11.
You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

12.
You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks into the room.

13.
You sing along with elevator music.

14.
Your eyes won't get much worse.

15
. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.
16. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service.

17.
Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.

18.
Your supply of brain cells is finally down to a manageable size.

19.
You can't remember who sent you this list.
And you notice these are all in big print for your convenience.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING:

Never, NEVER,
NEVER, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill, and a laxative on t

Now it is only about 45 seconds and stay with it until the end - trust me.

Great laughs today, Sandie. Since my 65th birthday is just a little over a month away the ones about aging really hit home. If we are lucky enough to get old, we have to have a sense of humor about it.

Just for the record: # 9 on that list made me laugh the most.

I am NOT NOT NOT clicking the mouse one. I'm too phobic for that. Eeek is my middle name.

And can I say that I saw the previous post and just loved it? It tugged at my heartstrings. Are you going to tell which one is your daughter? Or did you tell and I missed it?

So sweet.

Good ones, Cathy. I was all business in 1962 but a lot of that stuff started when I reached 1964 and later into the 70's.

I didn't dare watch that poor little mouse. I hope it got free and had a good meal to boot. And that it wasn't too scared with it all.

Another great share, Sandie! Unfortunately, I can identify TOO well with those "perks" ... especially singing along with the elevator music!

PS - Yea, mouse! I was almost too "chicken" to watch, but then you said "Trust me."

Oh no!!! What happened to God and Dog??? I had e-mailed people telling them to watch it and it is gone. I am confused...you could not have changed your blog in the few minutes since I saw it because you have too many comments to have just changed it. Well, I think I can find it on YouTube.

Hi Sandie,
I'm a newbie blogger since May. Just caught on to your Fun Friday. I always like visiting your funny, delightful blog with the purple, yellow, white daisies. Fav saying today: 1962- Rolling Stones 2012 Kidney stones. I'm still stuck in 1967 at age 18 dancing to Rolling Stones at night club all night in Santa Monica. So I'll be back to see you next Fun Friday to get a dab of your funny perfume in my overly-serious head.
Right on!
Nanette

Hilarious!

I really thought shingles was something only older people could come down with, I was floored when my husband had it when he was only 29. He was miserable with pain. :(

I'm going to share that joke with my Mom, she'll get a kick out of it.

The college thing, I was trying to figure out how much of that stuff I actually remember, being born in 1982.

I like the house too, but would prefer it be next door to you rather than me. I'm going to have enough trouble selling someday.

Hope your husband is behaving and still just sitting and not bending over.
