Monday Musings - Memorial Day

You know Chatty is going to be late answering emails and reading your posts - but I will make up for it this week!

This is going to surprise you - this is a barn in Marietta, GA.  Not even driving by this time - I am totally still.  It is a small barn - probably a shed.  I thought it was done so nice.  Very patriotic for this day.  The bench is red, white, and blue.  Red door.

I want to thank every man and woman who have served in the military and their wives or husbands.  You paid a price for me.  Thank you.

This was on the neighbors mailbox -  next to the man's house with the barn.  Kind of cute.

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

Directions:

ADD 1-1/2 cups boiling water to dry berry blue gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir at least 2 minutes until gelatin is dissolved. Dissolve dry red gelatin mix in 1-1/2 cups boiling water in separate bowl. Stir 1-1/2 cups ice cold water into dissolved gelatin in each bowl.
SPRAY 10-cup flag mold with cooking spray; place on baking sheet. Pour red gelatin into mold. Refrigerate 45 minutes until set but not firm (gelatin should stick to finger when touched and should mound). Meanwhile, refrigerate berry blue gelatin in bowl for 45 minutes.
MEANWHILE, stir remaining 1 cup boiling water into dry lemon gelatin mix in bowl at least 2 minutes until dissolved. Refrigerate 25 minutes or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites), stirring occasionally. Stir in whipped topping with wire whisk. Gently spread over red gelatin in mold. Refrigerate 10 minutes or until set but not firm. Gently spoon thickened berry blue gelatin over lemon gelatin mixture in mold.
REFRIGERATE 4 hours or overnight until firm. Unmold.

I have to tell you something wonderful that happened at church yesterday - we have a man there at church who is Iranian.  He has been coming for years and years.  His wife is not Iranian and she leads the music at our 3rd service.  We go to the 2nd service.  Mac told us that he was going to be baptized into the Christian faith today!  We stayed for that.  It was so cool.  I mean he took such a risk.  His family will disown him.  And he could possibly be killed for that.  He actually gave up his old beliefs today and took in Christ.  Powerful.  Now that is faith.

Okay that is about it - remember I will catch up with you this week.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Love, Chatty

Hi Sandra,
Amen to the troops.God Bless all and who have gone to the Lord. I watched Steve Green sing . God Bless America. His song of 30 years singing that. He now has a new book out. Are you keeping God in your life still. Something of that title. I am a Canadian as you know but hubby and I enjoy Fox with Brian and Steve regulars. Today they were off but i still enjoy who take their place. Also nice to see the men of white and blue on. So was touching. Liked what you put up as usual in your blog.. Praise the Lord for the Iranian man who excepted Gods truth of Baptized. Gods truth. I will pray against the enemie who dare touch him . For the new walk in his life of Christ Jesus.

What an awesome experience for your church friend who has been baptized. What a powerful statement of his beliefs!

That is a great video, thanks for posting it today.

That little barn is so cute with its red door. It's nice to see all the those big old GA tress too, been a long time since I was down that way.

Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day. I spent the day at my Daughters...

All of you who do the Barns have me going down the highway looking at old barns. LOL... My Hubs keeps asking me what I am looking at.

Sandie, this entry didn't show up on my Dashboard; weird!! I am so thankful about the man who joined your church! You are right; he took a great risk in what he did, but the right risk! An eternal risk! Awesome!!! That cake looks delicious; will have to try it.

Enjoyed this one. Don't know how I missed it.
The baptism is amazing, strange how things we love might endanger someone's life. That is hard for us to understand in America!

I love the patriotic barn.
Wonderful news about your service on Sunday, too.

I'm having a whale of time visiting and commenting these past few days. Not sure why, but I am. That's probably good since I needed a moment of "wait time" between seeing this post/video/testimony and commenting.

I literally had tears running down my cheeks during the video. Then, I read the last part about the baptism, and well... this is one of the best posts ever.
