Sunday My gift to you.

COME DANCE WITH ME!  Live - Love - Laugh - Dance.  I think the very hardest thing to remember is that God is good all the time even when times are bad - it's a lot easier to believe HE is good when things are good.  Believe me - I know - right there with you.

Thank you for this Calamity - you are so right - his face looks so gentle and kind.  I imagine him to be like this.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

I've been reading the a commentaries on the book Of John - the 4th book in the Bible - it takes two books of commentaries to cover it. And I have been thinking deep.

I think in earthly time.  I want this or I'm unhappy with that.  I'll ask God many times to change that part of my life - to give me what I need.  Now!  He says no.  And I'll be unhappy.

When I was reading the commentary this time and I began to see something I miss before - which I think I might know on some level already.

This earth is temporary.  Say 80+ years.  Seems like a long time, but in reality it's so short compared to eternity.  I'm wondering now that when He says we'll be okay - not to worry - He'll take care of us - He may not mean in the here and now.   He might have meant there in the end.

I don't know if I feel I explained this right or not - doesn't sound right here.  Any thoughts?

I just commented on your Saturday post and then I saw your Sunday one. Our time on earth is short and Heaven is our reward I think. I've learned to take the good with the bad and live one day at a time. Life as we know it will pass away, What will come we can only imagine.

This is just one level of the game....

i believe our reward is in heaven and that is what John meant, in the end we will be in heaven and be eternally happy.on earth we have he ups and downs and joy and despair. think of the lives the disciples lived. talk about joy and despair, there lives were full of both

Thought provoking post. Thanks. I do love that picture of Jesus. We will all have many trials in this life. The scriptures tell us to embrace Christ and the life he offers us and then learn to rejoice and be glad, even in our trials. Thank you very much for sharing.

what a beautiful photo, I think you expressed yourself beautifully as always,

Yeah, when we start looking at 'LIFE' both here and eternity. Earth time is nothing. Good entry and it does make one think.
Off to Church this morning, sending love your way!!!

In one Biblical phrase, it compares our human, earthly lives to a blade of grass. First it's there and before we know it, it's gone! Yikes. It's a sobering thought but so true, too. Sometimes I get bogged down with "things of the earth." The wants and the wishes----you know what I mean. Really, all we have to do is keep our EYES ON THE ROCK. I LOVE reminding myself that God is the same today as He was yesterday and as He'll be tomorrow. Have a wonderful Sunday, Sandie. Susan

I love that old hymn "This world is not my home, I'm just a passin through, my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. In the realm of things we are here but for a minute, so I trust God to lead me on the path that will lead to His best for me.

The sun is still shining even if there is a cloud in front of it...it is hard to believe sometimes, but that doesn't change that fact.

I loved the video...I used to go to a Church in Ky that before he would dismiss the Pastor would say...God is Good...and the congregation would answer...All The Time...Good Memories!!

Sandie, I think you have figured it out just right, and let us in on the meaning as well. As much as I'd like somethings to make sense now, while on earth-time, perhaps I will just have to wait. Ann

I truly do agree with what you are saying here, Sandie. Our time here on the earth is so short compared to eternity. I put a dot on a long line on a piece of paper one time. The dot represented my time here on earth; when compared to the time before me and the time after me and eternity which I believe is timeless, it is such a short space of time. John happens to be my favorite of the gospels, especially Chapters 13-17.

But I'm with you; I get frustrated when things don't seem to be moving in the way I want them to and when God doesn't answer the prayers the way I think he should, LOL, but in the end I do agree with you, he is good all the time, no matter what and he does know what is best for us!

I agree..the Bible says things like in this world we will have suffering and persecution...we are suppose to count it all as joy the word says, but ultimately our reward awaits us in Heaven. If we are faithful until the end, we will receive our prize. Praise God that He helps us to be faithful!

I believe God is with is all the time, now and for eternity. That doesn't mean we won't suffer but it does mean he'll be there with us when we are. :)

All I can say is your thoughts are very profound.

You are exactly right, Sandie!!! People see so much unfairness in the world, and wonder how God can be fair when they see that the world is not. But God is fair, eternally! He will right all the wrongs and all will be worked out, just perhaps not in our time.

I thank you got it right!

I think you said it well. And I know He in His almighty wisdom knows how much we can "take" and spares us with the rest. We can just know HE is there to guide us through those hard times!

I think you said it just right. I hope you are having a great day.

Hi Sandie, Great Sunday post... Yes, our time on this earth is short compared to eternity.... There's so much better out there waiting for us. When I learned that, it made death almost exciting instead of something we dread or something we don't want to talk about. To me, death is moving on to something bigger and better... Thanks be to God.

Hugs,
Betsy

Yep, you're right. This earth is just a pit stop. We have to place everything in the perspective of eternity. We typically hear people say, "Life is so short." But, as I wait for heaven...life feels too long. :-)

I like your thoughts and it would explain so much that sometimes seems unexplainable.

I'm not a deep-thinker, but I'm glad others are. So glad the gospel is simple and we don't have to understand all the specifics, but I think you're on to something, Sandie.

Do I have any thoughts...after reading this? Yes.
I am so happy you are in my corner and praying for my present situation. Relief and a sense of "it's going to be alright!"

Final thought is that I think you are right! Perhaps it wasn't meant as the here and now..no matter, because I have faith.
Every day there is a sign. For example..you.

Yes, in the end, He will take care of this. It is so hard to understand it all. I have no idea what eternity is like. I only know that based on what I know of Jesus now, He is good for His word. Well, He is the Word made flesh, so there you have it.

I feel life is like a tapestry that we can only appreciate at the end when it is finished. As the threads of our days are woven together we can't see the pattern that the Lord is weaving us in, and what we might think of as mistakes or omissions are all parts of His beautiful pattern. We have to accept God's plan for us.

Hi Sandie,
Great post for Sunday!!
Wonderful food for thoughts, my friend!!
Yes!! We are all temporary passengers in this passing world, so we are indeed travelers into eternity, the sooner the better for some folks, and the other way around for others...
I enjoy coming over to your wonderful blog, Sandie.
There is always something new to learn from you, my friend.
God may bless you all!!
Friends are angels without wings.
Blessings and Warm Hugs,

Yes. yes. yes, Sandie... I've been thinking the same thing. We are blessed and loved all the time... even when it feels like it is falling apart; in the end, it will be okay.

I have a video of Alex reciting Johsua 1:9 on my phone... I played it alot over the past few months.
