Tuesdays Tail

How does the picture below relate to the statement above? I'll tell you that my two grandsons and one fur baby personalities are in this one photo.  The dog on top is my eleven year old grandson.  The one directly under him is my little 2 year old grandson - starting to be like his big cousin.  And the dog on the right - Disco - because he wants to be a part of the action just like the kids and will follow right along.

We all do love our grandkids - don't we?  It is so fun the second time around.

Do you remember last week went I went over dog baths and dogs playing in water?  Well this week Monica@Expressly Corgi sent me cat baths - so for my cat friends.

And for my squirrel loving friends - squirrel in action:

Okay if you are still with me I have a question for you. My husband says dogs sleep 20 hours a day - is that true?  What is your opinion on that?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY for my dog lovers:

Well - sort of - but he's cute - right?

Our dogs didn't sleep that many hours thats for sure, theywere always to busy chasing frogs and chipmunks!

When my late cat Sophie was a kitten, I was taking a bubble bath one day. And she jumped up on the side of the bathtub and started patting the suds with her paw. And then she decided to walk on them. :)

She shot out of the water like a cannonball and ran up and down my house until I found her soaking wet, and smelling really good, under my bed. Needless to say - that never happened again. :)

I love the top shot of the dogs! So cute. I don't think Max sleeps 20 hours a day but it's pretty darn close!

There is something really wrong about giving a cat a bath, but the photos are hysterical!!!

It would not surprise me if dogs slept 20 hours a day. I know Lilly can be a lazy ole mutt!
Oreo doesn't really like baths, but he's not too bad about it until we try to rinse his belly. Then, watch out!! But I know he feels better when it's all over and done with.
Love those bath pics! :)

Oh, poor kitty. I thought they didn't like the water.

The pic of the dogs is so cute.

Great pics! Happy 4th to you and yours! !!!

Squirrels aren't my favorite because of some of the experiences you've had, but that video is pretty amazing. I should be so agile and talented!

I don't think our dog sleeps 20 hours a day....he is pretty active. He does like to settle down for a little nap after he wakes us up in the morning. :)

TexWisGirl said...

I'd say 20 hours is about right.

Stacy said...

The new puppy?? I WISH she slept 20 hours a day. She exhausts me.

I'm going to have to agree with you about dogs sleeping 20 hours a day (unless they are working dogs, LOL). Koda is always sleeping; maybe closer to 18 hours now that I think about it. But its varying degrees of sleep with him; some his eyes are barely closed, some he's on his back totally relaxed.

all cute pictures of cats with baths too!

have a good day Sandie!

Husband Bob says our boys starting napping the minute I leave the house and only get up for 15 minutes at a time. I find this hard to believe as on weekends they following me 24/7. But I do notice they are happy to take a nap with me!

Love that dog pic! And I've got to show those poor cat pics to Lionel and Tuppence. They will be even more grateful that they live with me, who never puts them through that misery. :-)

There is nothing sadder looking than a wet cat.

Oh, those cat pictures brought back memories. I was a vet tech in school and I bathed many a feline. Still have the scars-

Cheryl @ TFD said...

I'd never try to give her a bath but Stormy loves to have her face washed with a washcloth!
I don't know how long a dog sleeps but it's a lot! Ditto cats.
The pics of the wet kitties are just too funny!
Have a wonderful and Happy 4th!!

TARYTERRE said...

Forgive me for saying but... ROFLMAO. Those cats look so funny drenched. Scared out of their wits though. CATS do NOT like WATER. They prefer to sleep 24/7. happy 4th.

Oh I love how you explain your Grands! So cute! Yes they are the best and most fun thing ever..Grandkids! Now I love the wet cat photos but I don't bathe my cat. He is very clean. Not sure how much dogs sleep but cats sleep all the time! Seriously! LOL....hugs, Linda

Fun..dogs, cats, squirrel pics. Good new signature, dancing Sandie. You always make great post. As for sleep of dogs, 20 sounds right. No wonder when they wake up they are ready to run...well rested. hahahha

I think one of this biggest advances in veterinary medicine is the way we treat fleas now. Those pictures reminded me of the days we had to flea dip the cats. First we'd bomb the house with these cans of flea stuff. We'd have to put the cats in the garage and leave for a couple of hours. Then we'd get home, air out the house, and bring the cats in one at a time for their flea bath. It was a long and stressful day.

Betty said...

By the way, I think my dog sleeps more than 20 hours a day, but she's 12 now and runs when she's awake.

Suzan said...

I agree with your husband Sandie!! Augie sleeps AT LEAST 20 hours a day! Of course he's now 10 years old.
I would love to have a 4-legged sissy for Augie but Danny says no more kids!! Instead of another pooch- he's OKed me getting two tatoos :-}}

Hi Sandie. Love that photo of all the dogs, and the wet cats were so cute!! They look so teeny when their fur is all wet like that.

There is nothing so pathetic, yet comical as a wet, desperate cat! Loved all your thoughts and pictures Sandie! Ann

Okay, cute. Comparing the grands to the pups!!!!
The squirrel is amazing. some seem impossible for an animal to figure out.

I have one grand dog that sleeps probably 20+ hours. English Bull named M.J. She only wakes up to eat and pee, LOL

jack69 said...

I ain't commenting on the cats, they look pitiful!!! hahahahaha

yes, at least old dogs. I swear the only time Buddy is conscious for more then ten minutes at a time is when it's time for dinner.

Beautiful grandkids! The cats are pitiful.... ha! ha! I think your hubby is probably right about the dogs sleeping...unless they are working dogs!:-)

Love, love, the little dog with attitude at the end! He's bril!

Dee said...

I have a great big ole smile on my face looking at the pictures...so funny. Not only do cats look pitiful when they are bathed...they sound like you are killing them...but they actually feel good afterward. The squirrel video was funny...especially with the music. I do think he went through it before...he was to confident. As always..love stopping by for a laugh and a gigglee.

I'm still waiting for grandkids. I'm beginning to think it's not going to happen :(
I'm not sure exactly how long Duke sleeps.

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

I have a few grand dogs and cats thrown into the mix, too! :)

I can never understand why anyone would want to wash a cat..lol!

I think most older cats and dogs do sleep long hours..maybe 20 hours isn't far fetched?

Happy 4th of July!

Caption for the first cat pick: "You have to sleep sometime."
Giving a cat a bath can be hazardous to your health.

I love that squirrel video!

Happy 4TH!

Beatrice P. Boyd said...

When I had a cat, I never tried giving her a bath and now I know WHY.

Arkansas Patti said...

Pretty sure Mighty is safely in the 20 hour range.
Loved the squirrel video. Some people don't like the birdseed stealing cuties but I think they are amazing athletes with a fairly high IQ. I am so bummed that I have NONE.

Jocelyn said...

lol Whoa... the cat photos! too funny! :) Dogs are awesome, lol, whether or not they sleep for like ever, haha. But yes, maybe around 20? :)

Stopping in Sandie, to wish you and yours a very happy and safe Fourth!

That third little cat at the edge of the sink is saying, "I am never going to forget this...".

Not sure about how much the dog sleeps because we're usually asleep too. LOL

I'm pretty sure that squirrel is the same one that manages to get to my sister's feeders no matter what restraints they try to build to keep it away.

Wishing you a happy and safe Fourth!

I wish I had a photo of my arms and hands after giving Winston a bath the very first time after we adopted him....whoa. LOVE the kitty bath photos. Too darned funny. And the puppy with the George Burns spectacles is a hoot.

I really don't know what critter my grandsons would be for comparison....I'll have to think about that one.

Happy 4th of YOUly to you and yours.

I would have to say they do sleep a lot. Depends on the day!
