Health and Wellness day - Woolzies

I'm very lucky - in my opinion - to have been given this package of Woolzies Dryer Balls.  I've been trying them now for about three weeks and I do laundry every day if not more.

My grandson and I have severe allergies.  I 'd love to use regular fabric softeners.  They make the clothes soft and smell so good.

I did that for awhile - now I didn't know it until I went on kind of a detective hunt as to why I had dermatitis over most of my body.

Your body can take just so much abuse/allergens and then it's going to act up and tell you in some way it's not happy.  Dermatitis was my body's way of saying - STOP - too many allergies here.  I'm allergic to some foods - every thing known to man outside - perfumes - and more!

I had to go back to the basics and look for things I could cut out and see what happened. I went to allergy free laundry soap - allergy free shampoo and conditioners -  and then no fabric softeners.

(Did you know fabric softeners sheets may destroy the flame retardant qualities in our children's clothes?).

Eventually the dermatitis went away.

I saw some laundry balls advertized on TV - two blue plastic ones.  I bought them.  They really didn't do too much.  I used them as they were better then nothing.  Eventually they cracked and that was it - trashed.  They were loud too and  I didn't know they also had harmful PVC's in them.

I saw these Woolzies balls and I wondered if  they worked.  And guess what - I tell you - they do work.  They are wool - but they are non-allergic.  True.  They say they will last 1000 loads - that means about 3 years for me.  They do soften your clothes - they feel so incredible soft.  They help wrinkles - static - and they make no noise.

If I sound like I'm a commercial I am - because I love the Woolzies balls.

I'm glad you found something that works. Allergies must be so difficult for a child, well for anyone, but especially for a kid. Yes, I have a Swedish accent and I met my hubby when he moved in across the street from me in Los Angeles. We were good buddies for many years before something clicked. A good foundation, for sure.

I don't have any allergies to fabric softener sheets but these sound wonderful. Can't believe the number of uses you get with them. I did use laundry detergent balls years ago.

Allergies are just terrible. I quit using all fragrances because so many people are sensitive to that. I'm glad you found something that works for you.

I love both the graphics, and especially the last one. It's right on the money.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

I'd love to try them! Glad you found something that works. My MIL is trying some non-detergent balls and says they really clean. I'll ask her again about them in a couple of weeks to see if her opinion holds.

wow, I'm checking these out!! I can only use Ivory soap, even products that say unscented now bother me, I have allergies to all petroleum products and sadly thats in almost all laundry products and shampoos and soaps, hair sprays and hair dyes, makeup everything! These would be wonderful!

I could use those Woolzies, I have the blue dryer balls you were talking about and they do split. I don't like using fabric softener, it clogs up the washer.

I did like them on FB too

The Woolzies sound nice. Glad you enjoy them.

Love the cartoon about no grass... We have grass --but it's raining cats and dogs here today.. Wonder if that means "May Flowers"????? HOPE!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

I don't have any allergies and I don't usually use fabric softeners, but you make these sound so good I would like to try them.

I love my Woolzies and I too use them almost every day. So glad they are helping you with your allergies.

I usually just use Bounce sheets - I like the smell and haven't any allergy issues, but I do like the notion of Woolzies.

I don't think I have any standing allergies. Just the ones that spring brings along.
BUT IMMA loving the cow and the snowman! what a hoot. That got my laugher going. Thanks.

The balls sound like a wonder for someone who needs them, but we would opt out of the drawing here at the homestead.

Love and HUGS from North Carolina...

Hi Sandie .. allergies are just a great nuisance aren't they .. thankfully I don't suffer.

I love the cow and the snowman - great question!

Cheers Hilary

Hi Sandie...

The dryer balls sound interesting. I probably won't win them when I say the next thing....I love fabric softener sheets.

They smell fabulously and make my clothes soft.

Since I don't have any allergies, I can use them with no problem.

But put my name in the hat because I'd try them if I won.

Have a great day! Susan

those woozies sound great to me. i have had to change to scent free detergent, the one we were using was fine, but they added some horrible scent and it makes me itch. anything scented upsets my allergies. i will check these out, i am wondering if walmart has them.

I have not heard of these.I do know the balls you put in the washer are not good, they do not do a good job like detergent. These are cool though, DRYER balls! I am so glad you found them! I bet you have to order them? We just do not use the dryer sheets due to all the bad things about them.

Thank you for the wealth of information on the allergies! I don't have any allergies but if I hear of someone complaining maybe I can now help.

LOVE the 'preach' quote!

Happy Day to you!

Like the cartoon with the cow and snowman. I can't imagine how dreadful allergies are. Glad you found something that works for you.

These sound wonderful! I have fragrance allergies so use the dryer sheets with no smell, but not sure it's a good thing. Now my daughter and grandson have skin allergies also so these would be awesome. They have used the 'blue balls' and found they helped a little but not that much. So I would love to win these but will try them one way or the other.

hugs, Linda

I'll have to check these out, I haven't heard of them...I just go straight to the Bounce section. :) I bought the unscented and allergy-free ones last time. The scent has always been a bit too strong for me.

Wow - these balls really sounds interesting, and I'm happy to hear that they work as well. Allergies is not fun, and I am only allergic to nuts but boring having to read on everything, and then the psoriasis but the sun beds helps a lot to clear it.
Hope you're having a good Thursday, weekend is within grasp...friday tomorrow..yeyyyyyyy!
Love,
Eva

Sandie, I tried those darn blue plastic ones and just couldn't stand the noise they made. Even if I don't win, I will give these a try. I've heard the dryer sheets are not good for us or the environment. I always learn something from you! Ann

Woolzies sound like such a nice way to soften your laundry. Two of my kids had allergies from liquid detergent. Now they have outgrown it.
I am glad that you are able to cozy up.

Paula said...

Wouldn't you know I would like that cow cartoon? I read that dryer sheets clog up the dryer filter so I stopped using them.

I guess any allergies we have aren't that serious. I used to use fabric sheets, until the person at Bed Bath and Beyond told me we shouldn't because they leave a residue on the fabric. So I switched over to the noisy blue balls and now don't use any fabric softener at all.

I love the cow and the snowman. Poor thing.

Yes, the road runner had a snake in its mouth. They even kill rattlesnakes, they can bang a snake's head against a rock. Talk about using tools. I love the new look of your blog.

Ann said...

I've never heard of those. I don't have too many problems with allergies other than the seasonal kind. I normally use dryer sheets but I've been finding lately that I'm still getting static cling. That drives me nuts

Hi! We have dryer balls from my Norwex people. But you know, they are noisy but that is ok because our laundry room is in a storage room in our garage so we don't hear it. But I am so glad you found something that is working for you!

Thank you for your nice comments and I am so glad you love the bracelet!

I don't have any allergies to fabric softener as far as I know. We don't use the sheets, though. We use a downy ball. I had actually pinned a homemade version of those awhile back, but I've never gotten around to making it.
