Mondays Muses

Good Monday Morning My Friends - I hope you had a great weekend!

THIS IS NOT MY PICTURE - but it is so beautiful I just felt like sharing it.  I wonder why people take gorgeous photos and then copyright it - I mean isn't beauty to share?  If I could take a picture like this you could have it.  Maybe it is for business reasons and money. I guess I could see that.

Well my weekend was a little boring - I had to sit and rest.  The last couple of weeks my right leg has been getting red at the ankles.  Well being the doctor I am I wrote my doctor an email last week and said I had celulitis - she was out of town so they gave me an antibiotic.  My mom had had it and I really did think it was.

On day 8 of 10 days it is no better so I write the doctor again.  She can't see me but Dr. Pink can.  I go in and it is not cellulitis.  She didn't know what it was - brings another doctor in and he didn't know either.  They call the dermatologist and he got me in but I had to wait a couple hours.

Turns out it is something called Schamberg's Disease - pigmented purpura - or small blood vessels bleeding under the skin.  He took a biopsy just to make sure.. I was told to go home and rest with my feet up - that is hard. A not so pretty picture.  But what amazes me is this - you are totally well one minute and the very next your leg can look like this.  The body God made is amazing.  There was some swelling and they want me to go today for an ultra sound - but it is not swollen at all today.  I want to cancel it.

Isn't this guy beautiful too?

Whenever I'm sad or down I go to things with color, animals/wild life, and music.  I think these gifts are from God and are to be used to see HIS beauty in spite of all the sadness that is around. They heal me.

I'm not saying it is not okay to be sad - it is - but it is also okay to look at wonderful miracles.

This is just plain beautiful...
Fantastic! Just click on colors below, let go of your mouse and sit back and enjoy a multitude of pictures, first in black and white, then in color. Phenomenal photography. What a colorful world we live in and take for granted every day. Black and white is dramatic, but in color...wow!

LOVE, DISCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must go in for the ultrasound and not Doctor yourself. I just don't like the way it looks, and if I were there I would take you myself. I will be checking with you later on in the day!
Love,
Jemma

I agree. Go have the ultrasound. Don't take any chances. It will help to know if there is anything else to deal with. I'm worried about your leg and you. Take care.

I hope your ankle feels better soon Sandie. And yes animals are wonderful for bringing smiles to our faces :)

Please keep the appointment for the ultrasound! It is probably just what they've told you, and if it is, my husband has had it for many years - it is really just cosmetic.....but best to find out for sure.

Oh dear poor you! I know the feeling. I went to bed the other day and woke up in the morning with this awful eye infection. Nothing was wrong the night before, and I'm still suffering now. It teaches us to never take our bodies for granted.

Get well soon!

i have not heard of this one but i do believe you MUST go get that ultra sound, do not mess around with something like this. do what the docs say to do... just because it went down doesn't mean it will not come back. my friend had a red spot on her leg and i will not tell you that story of her not going to the doc.

Hi Sandie! Thank YOU for the nice compliments you paid me from my posts last week. You always make me feel so GREAT!!! I love the love you share. ♥

Those dogs in the laugh are hilarious!!! Those silly critters.

Sandie go get that ultra sound. Nothing to frown on. Not liking that red spot.

I have had now three weeks of sciatic right leg having to take aleve twice directed by dr and a walking cane in day. Oh my pride really doc. A cane. Yes for now.

I thought I had one day no pain no swelling. So dummy me. Decide to do the bathroom cleaning. I was on top of the world. I thought.
Put cane in the cornor.

Next day all back to square one.

Could not roll over in bed again.

Mine will take six weeks and it has been only 3 weeks.

You keep that appointment.

I am pointing my finger at you.

GO GIRL. To your appointment.

Girl, you need to go ahead and have that ultrasound. I mean it. Saying a prayer for you, Sandie. blessings and hugs ~ tanna

Oh my, Sandi. You get yourself right over to the hospital and get that ultrasound. It is much better to know what you are dealing with than to wonder and worry. As women, we tend to take care of everybody and everything before ourselves. Take all your happy thoughts with you and get in your car and go do what you must.

Helen said...

the colors video was awesome, love the music. the laugh was hilarious and yes like other ladies had mentioned go for the ultrasound.

Cheryl @ TFD said...

I know you don't want to go, I would be the same way, but I would go to be on the safe side and I think you will, too. Let us know what you find out. I'll be praying for you! Take care, dear Sandie.

My prayers are with you I hope your leg feels better. I am like you I believe God gives us beautiful sights to bless our day. Happy Monday.

My ankles get like that when I've been on my feet for too long (all day at a theme park, for instance). Pressure socks don't help much. I've had cellulitus three times, and one put me in the hospital. You would know cellulitus...chills, vomiting, high fever and the red marks running up your leg are hot. That infection is terrible and the symptoms can come on in an instant. Be glad it isn't cellulitus, Sandie. The red should fade away in a couple of days as your body absorbs the blood that leaked out of the small vessels. My ankles tend to swell and hold water, and that is what causes the blood vessels to leak. Getting old is the pits!

I've had cellulitis. I am glad you were not diagnosed with that. I, too am anxious to here what the ultra sound shows. We want our Chatty Crone to be all healthy and good!

Thinking of you, Miss Chatty!

That would be more than just a little worrisome, take good care and follow your doctors advice. I do love the pictures in your post today. Isn't it wonderful what colors can do to brighten our lives. It's on the dreary side here today with chances of rain, I best put something colorful on. No matter the weather, sometimes you just have to make your own sunshine. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

youch! hopefully it looks worse than it feels! sure hope it gets better!

Sandie, I am using my *adult serious voice* here - you MUST go to the doctor and get the ultrasound. Just because the swelling is down a bit, doesn't mean the problem is gone.

There, lecture done.

Love all the colors and beautiful things you shared with us today. Yes, in the middle of grungy life, God gives us rainbows.

GOD BLESS!

Hope you feel better soon! Better to know what is going on so you can start to heal. You always have a great attitude with your funny finds :-)

Sandi, I appreciate the musings BUT, get your B**T in for the ultrasound. Don't make me come up there! If it were sweet GS, you would have him there in a minute. You need to take care of this,if for no other reason but GS.
Hope you feel better soon,

I'm glad your leg is healing up.

I like the last phrase you posted in the sign. :)

I'm sad today about the shooting in DC. My son is in the military over there, and anytime something happens where they send the men out, it makes me worry. He called to tell me he was safe about an hour ago.

I don't understand some things.

Music and color do help. Sometimes it is the little things. :)

Sandee said...

Please tell me that you kept your appointment. You need to get this cleared up. I'm just saying.

Have a terrific day honey. Big healing hugs. :)

Hi Sandie .. sounds as though getting the leg checked out is well worth the trouble .. so look after yourself.

Cheers and be sensible! Hilary

OH Sweetie, I'm so sorry.... GO and get your ultrasound... Don't take any chances. But--you know as well as I do that God sometimes find ways to slow us down when we won't do it ourselves. Maybe this is a 'sign' for you to stop trying to go the pace of a young mother. You need to be the grandmother and not the mother for awhile --when it comes to your grandson... Just sayin'!!!!!!!

Bless your heart... I hope you will be okay. Please do what the doctor says NO MATTER WHAT...

Love the statement about not attending an argument.... LOVE IT.

Hugs and Prayers,
Betsy

WOW, that rainbow dandelion image is simply spectacular!

Ginny Hartzler said...

I love the first picture! I have been doing things like this with the dandelion puffs, but they don't work! There is a photo of one on fire on Pinterest that is gorgeous! Well, needless to say, we almost set ourselves on fire and the pictures looked NOTHING like on Punterest, which I think most of those shots are edited. I had to look up Shambergs disease! Maybe God is telling you to slow down a bit? I do NOT mean this in a pompous way or anything, as I am myself hobbled now. But please take it easy so you can heal!!!

Loved the beautiful slideshow of colors.. And if I may put my 2 cents in? Take good care of you, and go to the doctor for the follow-up! Glad you're feeling better though! ~tina

tell me you went to that ultrasound! You need to stop doctoring yourself and let someone take care of you. If you don't ...we both know you won't be able to take care of anybody else. Don't make me talk mean to you!I can't believe that leg looks like that yeah that is definitely not cellulitis. So when do you get the biopsy results back?I hope you feeling better. I hope you can find it in your heart to do what you need to do for yourself.love you Zoe

I don't get why some people copyright photos of things like flowers and buildings I only copyright the photos of my family.

Playing doctor to oneself isn't always a good idea, so go and have the ultrasound

Oh Sandie, I'm so sorry your leg is giving you problems. That is NOT GOOD.
Hope they can get everything back to normal soon.

The color video was great! Susan

I like the new quote by Hendrix. You have a strange thing there. Hope it is nothing to worry about, but we are always concerned when something different occurs to our bodies. Always safe to check…
I did smile at the dog Pile up.
And the lift, I try to remember that, because it is VERY TRUE!

Take care of yourself and rest and relax. You deserve it you do so much to make everyone feel happy and better.
Your black and white to color video was beautiful.
Blessings and a hug, Catherine xo

You probably should get the ultrasound anyway, but if I were you I guarantee that I would be thinking the same as you are since the visible symptoms seem to be going away.

I hope it turns out to be something very temporary and very "over".

I loved that quote near the end about not going to every argument you are invited to. I had an experience recently where a young man was doing everything in his power to drag me into one, and I just would not. It was freeing.

Please go for the ultrasound, will be praying for your leg. I love you.

I am praying for your health, may you be healed soon! jackie

Please go get the ultra sound. I had a patch of exzema (sorry about the spelling) on my lower leg much the same place as yours, I did not know what it was but when i started seeping after 3 months went to the doctor. It was almost cleared up and he went out of town, but I kept treating it and before it was over I had blood poisoning. My leg was red and hot to the touch. It finally cleared up but I must admit, it scared me. Please go because weird things happen.

Unknown said...

Oh my, hope you will feel better my friend!! Think you should go get the ultra sound, better be safe than sorry. Weather has been pretty wet over here today and I'm sorry I'm late. Big hugs xx

You better keep that date for the ultrasound and find out exactly what it is!!!

Now- no more emails and get yourself to the Dr.!!
