Great post! I'm with you - I need to lose weight. I lost 35 pounds a few years ago, and kept it off for a while. But, alas, a good portion of it has found its way back.

Loved the interesting news about August this year! How much fun is that? I'll have to think of something to do to celebrate. Maybe ice cream...

...oh yeah. Resolution #1.

Happy New Year, and GOD BLESS!

I've been doing very good on eating healthy for two years now but what I really need is exercise to get the weight down. I can't relate to the kid with the hot dog, I've been finishing up snacks in the house that I bought for Christmas and New Years Eve but I will be back on track soon! I just can't throw them away :) We always stay home and have a fun evening watching the New Year's shows on TV. Happy New Year.....

Sandee said...

I got stuck at the sliders. Some years back, thieves were hitting old ladies on the head a stealing their purses. I quit carrying a purse then. Haven't carried one since. Nothing I hate worse than thieves.

Have a wonderful day honey. May you and yours have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Scritches to Disco.

Happy New Year. Loved the "Life is now here". Come by and look at my "Mystery" post…mind games.
I have ALWAYS had the mind set of eat that bad stuff and get it out of the way. Actually, I have lost eighteen pounds in the last four months, not by choice but now that I am feeling better I like it and am trying to maintain and lose some more.
Good Luck, maybe we can encourage each other.

I could stand to do a little weight losing, too. And more exercising.

Funny how those things go together, right?

But I think I shall give my energy to looking for the good in things. Especially in cookies.

...I don't anticipate much weight loss.

Happy 2014 to you!! :)

Happy New Year to YOU, dear Sandie.

I'm with you on the losing weight goal. (I prefer to call it goal as opposed to resolution.)

My blood pressure is spiking and it's scaring the bazookers out of me. I HAVE to lose weight. Have to.

Hope your new year is awesome. Hugs. Susan

I kept my New Year's resolution of 2013 of not having a carbonated beverage for the entire year. It has been extremely hard for me to do that, but I did it. I am so proud of myself for accomplishing that goal. I can see by the clock that I still have a few more hours to go, and I don't know if I will have a sip of Coca Cola on New Year's Day or not. :))
I do hope that you have a beautiful 2014, my friend.
Hugs and love to you,
Jackie

This is probably the first new year in decades that I will actually be lighter than last year... but it has been one heck of a way to diet!

Happy New Year, Sandie!

betty said...

Happy New Year, Sandie! Make small consistent changes with your diet and you'll notice a difference in your weight ;)

Our sermon last week at church was about how we make resolutions which usually involve "I" "I want to lose weight" "I want to save money" "I want to give up smoking" which are all great, but the pastor challenged us to also think about putting God first in everything we do in the New Year and putting others before us, so that's what I'm going to try to do (in addition to trying to drop some weight :)

I hope it is a great year for you and yours!

About the sliders...I always take my keys and my credit card out of the vehicle when I pump gas and lock the car so no one can jump in while I am getting gas.

Happy New Year Sandie! Can't wait to see what you will share with us in 2014.

I did good with the weight up until this past month. Then eat, eat, eat put on a little extra weight. I am not making a resolution to lose it though as I am sure it will fall back off once I get back on a normal routine. Time management is something I definitely need to work on though. Happy New Year!

I do need to lose a few pounds. I plan on doing it by eating better and exercising. I will be buying a recumbent exercise bike. :) And after we move to NC I would like to get myself a tricycle. lol
I'm also going to make sure to write in my grateful journal every night before I go to bed so that I think of the positives from my day before going to sleep. :)
Love you and your blog!

Wonderful giggles from beginning to end. I loved the little rhyming one "Twas the night" take off the best of all. So funny!

For me, I'm just continuing a "diet" course that I started a few months ago when I first stepped out of blogging. I dare not hope too much, but it seems to have more sticking power than any "diet" I've ever done. I am so tired of gaining and losing the same stupid pounds.

Well, we are all in the same boat... need to lose weight or lose the stress in our lives! I read them all and I feel better! Hope 2014 is a better one, we lost Mom this year after a long struggle with Alzheimers and our Grandson lost his Dad in August. I just have not felt like blogging, but I need to make time for me. Happy New Year Sandy, you are the kind of blogger we all need, uplifting and always there!

I have never had a problem with weight until about 70 years of age. I make no resolutions because I don't keep them. I hope my dsughter for her health, CAN KEEP HERS, SHE IS SHORT AND LOVES FOOD BUT NEEDS TO LOSE. Like this post Pretty cool.

Yes, we can see the good in everything. That is what I love about you!!!♥

Oh the good ol' resolution to loose the weight. Been there, done that! I think the best way to lose weight is to not dwell on it, but to only eat when you are hungry and make great choices when you do eat (like fresh, wholesome, nutritious foods - not garbage, prepared, over processed foods).

Have a great week and weekend and of course a fabulous 2014!!!!!! ♥

Sandie, these are so funny. And that chubby cat is adorable! You will find my recipes have less sugar than other similar recipes. And I never use corn syrup, shortening, trans fats, etc. I use butter, but just enough to get the job done! I never eat storebought cakes, cookies, etc. Save my "sugar allowance" for homemade treats made with organic ingredients. I do allow myself a Pepsi about once a month! ;-)
