Tips

TIPS

I love finding out things I don't know, especially tips I can use.

The most recent is from my friend Barb, a blogger and quilter, about Color Snatchers - do you know what they are?

In all these years of doing laundry and ruining some clothes because of the red or blue running - she tells me something about a product named Color Snatchers or Color Catchers.  She learned from other quilters.

They are in the laundry section of the store - and they come in a box like dryer sheets.  I saw two types the band name and the generic.  I bought the generic. Not expensive at all.

So when you mix your clothes the whites and colors - you wash them in cold water - you put two of these sheets in and when you are done washing the white sheets are not white - they are the color that they caught!

It doesn't take a lot to make me happy.

Now the most important 'tip' I ever found was about coffee and acid re-flux.  I have acid re-flux and I love coffee.  What is a girl to do?  Now tell me you love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COFFEE TIP!
Go to 'coffee tip' and highlight to see it - don't know why it is not showing up underlined!

Do you have any tips to pass on?

Okay this just appeared on my blog - does anyone know what this is?

LAST TIP:  Moderately exercise daily!

Love, Chatty

what is the tip about coffee? I don't see that. I don't want to wash my whites and colors together. I have never heard of these, but did a google search and see it is supposed to allow that.

just had a thought, I assume quilters would be needing this color catcher because they wash different colors for quilts and a quilt has different colors. now I understand the color catcher part.. yay for quilters

I always separate the whites and colors. I do like white whites. I always use cold water for all my wash. The colors don't fade as much. But it was interesting hearing about the color catches. Never had seen them before.

I love tips! I don't have any at the moment but the color catchers I will buy. Oh moderate exercise is needed here so much! Hugs!

Interesting tip about coffee! It doesn't bother me but does bother Joe's tummy now and then. Good stuff to remember! I'll have to look for the color catchers. I don't have a problem since I sort the laundry according to color but it is good to know in case I need a quick load of mixed colors!

Hi Sandi - always interesting to see what people are 'tipping' about ... colour catchers I've seen around - but have never had the need to use them ... exercise - yes I do a moderate amount, but not enough ... cheers and take care - Hilary

So good to see a post from you! And after all this time, I finally copied your top quote from Jill savage. I will send it out to the church. I have never heard of these color snatchers!! Funny how we can pass something many times in the grocery store, but never really see it. So is your coffee tip to not drink it if you have acid reflux? I LOVE coffee!! I never do anything moderately, it is either all or nothing at all!

Thanks for the tips. I am going to pass that coffee one to Mark!

I can't see the coffee tip either, and I want to as I suffer with acid reflux!

Hadn't heard of the color catchers either. Will have to look for it at the store, though "knock on wood" I haven't had a catastrophe with laundry in awhile where something bled into something else.

Great tips!

These fancy inventions! I need to buy a snatcher. I didn't see the acid reflux tip, I have it. The only thing I know to do is drink less coffee. I add decaf to mine. It worked but doesn't keep me awake lol

I like to come across useful tips but you know right now I can't think of a single one

I love it when I find a very usable hint. The soda and coffee is a God sent for those with acid re-flux I am sure.

For the life of me I cannot think of a tip to pass on, and I have benefited so much. Sorry!
As always enjoyed the visit and like the graphics! ;-)

The first few years of my marriage, my husband's undershirts had a pink hue. I learned to do whites with whites after listening to his groaning. Now he does the wash, and he is not doing any better than I did years ago. At this point, I don't care and look at it as getting new looking clothes.

Great tips! The photobucket thingy appeared on my screen too some time back. One of the pictures I used had "photobucket" in the description. I deleted that pic and all was well. Have a blessed day dear friend. Hugs

Could have used the color catcher before I tossed the red shirt in with whites and gave my husband pink underwear. thanks for the tips.

Tips?

If you put food coloring in vase water your flowers will turn that color.

Okay I can see it now, I'm definitely going to give the baking soda a go! Thanks.

Those are interesting tips, especially about the color catchers. I mix everything together and the only time I don't is if I have something new, such as blue, red, or black. I have ruined some of DH's underwear, but he's good with that. Interesting also about the coffee. I love reading new tips. Thanks.

Love the tips...I have not heard of the coffee one and I do have acid reflux. Good to know.

I'll have to tell my sister about the coffee tip - she suffers so from acid reflux.

You got the Photobucket thing too! Could it be something in your sidebar? I've seen blogs that must have had another blog's badge and that's what did it. Of course, I'm not that fortunate. Mine was the background and I've never heard from the person I got the background from way back when.

I must confess, I am a quilter and I have never heard of 'color catchers' yikes, I better step up my game, thanks for the tip. I'm going to ask the ladies I quilt with if they've ever heard of that before. Once in a blue moon a white piece of laundry with get mixed with the colors and will turn, I'm going to keep a box of those little miracle sheets in my cupboard for those occasions.

It's always good to have tips, Sandie. As for clothes, I never mix the whites with the colored washes. Do them separately. If the whites start to get unwhite, I add hydrogen peroxide to the washing machine with the detergent. Works like a charm. Have a great day! Susan

Chatty, I have *always* (years & years & years) have gotten heartburn from drinking coffee. Sometimes I'd drink it anyway and sometimes I's just drink instant (no heartburn, with instant, for me). Anyway, I have discovered an organic, "light" coffee on Amazon. It's called "Subtle Earth" light roast coffee by Café Don Pablo. I'm on my 3rd 2# bag and have not had ONE instance of heartburn yet. I did a search one time, on google, for "best coffee beans" and this brand came up. I'll link it here (no affiliation of any kind). If you wish, give it a whirl. It might help you too.

LOVE your entries!!

Blessings~ Andrea xoxo

PS~ Don't have a clue as to what that sign is about. Maybe the site you use to host your pictures has posted it?

Love the coffee tip. Will try it. I used to buy color catchers and until this post I had forgotten about them. They worked so I don't know how I forgot. My cardiologist just told me to exercise 30 minutes each day. Nice share Sandie
