THE CHICAGO RIVER WAS DYED GREEN SATURDAY, MARCH 14, 2026 THIS YEAR.
THEY DO THIS EVERY YEAR WITH A VEGGIE BASED DYE THAT IS SAFE.
I LIVED IN CHICAGO MANY YEARS AND I SAW THIS DONE ONCE.
IT WAS INCREDIBLE. SO COOL.
IF ANY WORD COULD EXPLAIN AND DESCRIBE MY LIFE RIGHT NOW - IT'S POOTLING.
(I borrowed this word/meme from Denise at "An English Girl Rambles").
SOMETIMES YOU DO HAVE TO LOOK FOR BLESSINGS - BUT THEY ARE THERE.
I AM 24% IRISH AND SCOTTISH. LOVE IT! HAPPY ST. PAT'S DAY!
WHAT IN THE WORLD WOULD WE DO IF WE COULD NOT PRAY?

MY FRIENDS, MAY YOU ALL ALWAYS BE BLESSED! LOVE YOU ALL!

LOVE the dancing hippo.. Irish dancing hippo. ha ha,
ReplyDeleteThe hippopotamus dancing is delightful. Love it! 💚🍀🍀💚
ReplyDeleteThe river looks incredible green, what an awesome thing to do.
These are great, dear friend. ❤️ Thank you for sharing and for the smiles. Have a wonder filled day.
ReplyDeleteNice thoughts today. Thank you Sandie.
ReplyDeleteIs it OK to pootling at home? Like going up and down the stairs and realising we live in a one storey bungalow?
God bless.
HAPPY ST. Patricks Day! Hope you are blessed with lots of luck today! Yes sometimes we have to look a little harder to find the good, but yes, it is always there. I call it looking on the Bright Side. Love your post today!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day, Sandie! I have quite a lot of Irish ancestry so this day always brings this to mind. Loved the inspiration you shared here, too. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI am lovin' all the green on here today, Sandie. That Chicago river dyed in green is something else! It must have looked so cool when you lived there and saw it in person. What a beautiful picture. I love the word "pootling," and although I've never heard it before, it sounds a lot like me these days hehehe. That bunny is so cute, and the prayer is special. Well, you are fortunate to be part Irish on this day. My children are part Scottish and Irish as well. Have a wonderful day, dear friend. So thankful you are in my life!
ReplyDeleteI certainly have been doing a lot of Pootling lately. Love that word and the definition.
ReplyDeleteThanks for my Irish Blessing. Its lovely.
I too am so blessed ... even when I groan and complain !!
Have a great day
Sue
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Doing anything special?
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing the Chicago river several times. That was always fun! That Pootling is something else. That is a wonderful prayer. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you. Also, we must have prayer in our lives. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI went to Chicago once when the river was green. Thought it was full of algae until someone told me it was dyed green for St Patty's Day. Janice
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool with the river.
ReplyDeleteI took Thursday and Friday off for a 4 day weekend and I plan on doing a whole lot of pootling.
Happy St Patricks Day.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's good to Pootle!
All the best Jan
That is so cool about dying the river green for St. Patrick's Day. How long does it stay green?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to watch those boats dying the river! Pootle may well be my new favorite word. Now I've got to think of some way to cleverly (ha!) drop it in conversation.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful day! ☘️

ReplyDeleteHappy First Day of Spring. We were in Chicago 4 years ago and saw the river dyed green. The kids loved it. I hope you are having a great week. Like you, I look for the hidden blessings even when things aren't going right- xo Diana
