Tuesdays Tail and a Tale

GOOD MORNING DEAR FRIENDS - HAPPY VOTING DAY
I will be glad when it is over - and may the best man win.

Today is also my husband's 66th birthday!

Okay I have had a rough week.  First of all we had our chocolate episode with Disco.  Then at my grandson's school one of his classmate's father died.  He was 51.  Just up and died.  There are only 22 in his class they are family so all the kids were upset.  We went to the wake on Sunday.
Then - ask Debbie at Just Breathe - I was trying to figure out how to add my friends to my reader - ahem - and I played around so much I lost everything!  So I have been working for a couple days to get things back.  So if I don't read your post I'm sorry.  I am trying to find what the heck happened.

So a little humor will help me - what about you?

Thank you for sending this to me Angela of West Virginia's Treasures.

DISCO!

This was my little grandson (Disco) the night he ate chocolate - my other grandson is the real hero here.  My hubs and I thought - well he had eaten it before and was okay ....anyway grandson begged us to take him in to the Animal ER - and when  we did the doctor said he had a 50/50 chance of surviving!
He had IV fluids - charcoal treatments - they shave his little leg to put the IV in and he had fluids all night.  He was also made to throw up.  His heart rate was 260 and was very legarthic.

I hope he forgets this - he was abused as a puppy and I'd hate to think he was abused more.

Now you are going to laugh so hard you will almost die - I did - so I know.

Do you know what this is a picture of?  Yes Disco.  Yes on our sofa.  Yes on his pillow. Yes upside down.

Poor baby thinks he paralyzed!  It is getting cold here so we bought him a coat!  Put him it on him.  And he won't move!  He turned over and refused to move.  He played possum.
Now how will he keep warm upside down?

He must think what kind of crazy family did I get here - they let me eat chocolate, put me in a place where I get needles in my leg, then I come home and they put me in a straight jacket.

Although I do have my  problem solved when people come over - lol.

Please check out Tracie's Blog!

I watched Katie on television yesterday and saw the devastation in NY and NJ.
We still need to pray and help them too.

And don't forget to vote.

Oh yeah and something I heard today on Good Morning America - sitting straight and not slouching can help rid depression.  I guess it makes you feel better about yourself and people who stand straight do better at job interviews.

i was laughing out loud, and bob asked why, i said come see Disco. he laughed to. he said to tell you his daughter put one of these on her cat years ago and the cat did the same thing. if she put it on, the cat would lay like this and no move until they took it off. i have been thinking of one for Jake since he gets cold, but now i am wondering if i should or not. good thing you listened to GS and went to ER.

Good entry. I never knew until the last year or so that chocolate would hurt a dog. Glad the little fellow is okay.
You are one more Dr. Doolittle I know that talks to animals and know what they say. You along with the girls from WI and The BRBOOMER have great conversations with the animals. LOL

Love from here!!!
Vote early and vote often. LOL

I'm glad Disco is doing well! It's scary when our fur babies are sick, too. We got Benny a shirt to wear on Halloween and he LOVES it...he follows me until I put it back on. I think he likes the pressure from it. It's like a hug:)

Gosh, I swear if I don't stop here every single day, I miss all kinds of stuff! I'm so sorry about little Disco, but glad he is okay. That picture of him is a riot!! And the fact that he thinks he should lay like that! I would pick him up and hold him like a baby that needs to be burped! Awww...! We got Vern a coat, too, because he seemed cold outside...and sometimes inside! Happy Birthday to your hubby! Love your new template/header...but sorry you "lost" some stuff. That's why I'm always afraid to change things on my blog. Although I'm gettin' a hankerin" to change it! And On a serious note, how sad about the man who died.

Happy Birthday to your Hubby today! Glad Disco is doing better. Choc is bad for dogs . Years ago my aging beagle ate a box full and was never the same. She lived a good while after that though and I think it was just old age when she died. Hope the rest of your week is a good one!

Nonnie said...

Yay to your hero grandson for being so concerned about dIsco. That is hilarious of Disco on the sofa. Trudy doesn't like it when I put a coat or sweater on her. She acts as though it restricts her movements. Happy Birthday to your hubby.
Very sad to hear when someone so young passes and very sorry for his family. I like it that your grandson is in a group of caring people. Sweet.

Well gee Sandie you had more then your share. Hope things are better now and hope your hubby had a nice birthday in spite of all your hassle.

Happy birthday to your hubby, Sandie! I hope he had a good day! Disco is so cute in that coat; wonder if he will ever get used to it? So glad he made a recovery! I bet he won't be too traumatized, unless you take him back to the vet's for any reason, but then maybe he won't even then. Koda, with all the things he's gone through, he loves the vet's (because they of course give him treats :)

I lost all my blog friends once....I never knew what really happened, but after much work I was able to reconnect. It sure is frustrating.

Oh Sandie.

Only you can make me tear up about Disco's plight - and then laugh out loud at the possum in the coat! I am thrilled to hear that he's OK - and give the GS a big hug for being such a hero!

Happy birthday to Hubby. And my condolences to GS's classmate (and to all the kids) - what a tragedy. Prayers to the family.

GOD BLESS!

Granny Annie said...

It is obvious Disco has a statement to make about the jacket. LOL

Tanna said...

LOL! I love the "straight jacket" trick for when company comes... an inadverdant discovery! Excellent!

That is really sad about your GS's classmate's dad. Just goes to show how precious each day of life is.

I'm sitting straighter now! ;)

Debbie said...

Disco the possum is hilarious! I've never seen anything any cuter. I'm just so glad you listened to your grandson and took him to the Animal ER.

Sitting up straighter now. I need all the help I can get with my depressed spirit this morning.

Happy Birthday to your husband!

Debbie said...

BTW, it's hard to sit up straight when your boobs pulls you forward.

Don't ask me how I know.

Unknown said...

Sorry to hear about Disco...he looked a bit cute in his coat. And he was laying like that?! Glad he is ok now!
Sad about GS school mates Dad :(

Betty said...

Happy Birthday a day late to your husband.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandson's classmate's father. That is so young and must be very hard for a child.

Poor Disco, but hopefully he was too sick to remember most of it! I think I'd forget about the coat.

Unknown said...

Wow, what a week! So sorry about your grandson's friend's father, wow, we never know do we? Hope your sweet doggy recovers quickly!

Happy Birthday to your husband!

So sorry to hear about the father of a child dying like that at such a young age. My daughter had a friend whose dad died at the age of 40.

Disco is a hoot in that coat upside down! I think he's spoiled and not abused at your house! lol I'm so glad that he is all better now!

Nikki (Sarah) said...

oh Chatty....I'm sorry the week has been rough for you....usually when I have a week like that the next one is the opposite. Praying that for you. Happy B to your hubby and tons of hugs to you....

Jim said...

Hi Sandy ~~ I am sorry about your losing everything. I always liked the clever headings that you had.

If ever you can think of something I might have (link, common friend link, or e-mail and the like) that could help you please let me know.

Disco is the perfect dog for you. He is the luckiest dog too to be able to live with you all.

When Adi swallowed a can opening key with the spiral of tin from the open can the vet made her vomit by putting drops in her eyes. Withing ten minutes she OD'd if they didn't want to make such a bad scene. Their objective there is to make them NEVER want to go through with OD'ing again.

You can see we are home and I got long as I often do. KP is on my latest blog and looking at her smiley face might cheer you up a bit too.

Re: grandson's friend's 51-year-old father, we never know which of our day's will be our last. Always be ready for that so that it will be a joyous occassion.

Oh, Sandie, Disco's reaction to the doggie coat is sooo funny! Even funnier was your line about knowing what to do when people come to the house.

Sandy,
Hi! Sorry to hear about Disco eating chocolate. It's hard to believe that chocolate can be deadly to dogs if they eat it. Hope you have a good week-end.

Our labradoodle ate an 8 oz box of chocolates one Christmas. We came home from church to find her running around in circles. Scary. Luckily she made it through and I'm so glad Disco did as well!
