Okay okay - I have a couple of vents. Yes - even Chatty vents!
I have a blogger friend who got kind of a mean reply to her blog. I think it hurt her feelings. Why do things like this happen?
Like Thumper's mother said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
This is my thought - most of us - we're struggling to find answers in life. We struggled as children, as young adults, as young wives, as mothers, and some of us as grandmothers.
We want to do something fun. To talk to others and become friends. Right?
Aren't we at the age where we want to be a WOW? Wild Older Women! As for me I've been judged enough - I want a place so share and be myself. If someone doesn't like my blog for that day, then leave or write that you disagree with me - I can handle that, but don't be mean spirited. And I know we are not - I just can't imagine who left it and why - because we are a wonderful group of woman here.
"The great man is he who does not lose his childlike heart."– Mencius
Imagination was given to us to compensate for what we are not; a sense of humor was given to us to console us for what we are. - Mark McGinnis
Another vent I have is this - if you are 'actively' sick - please stay home.
I went to church last week and we did the handshake of friendliness. The gal in front of me - was 'actively' sick. Her nose was red, liquid was coming out of her nose, and she had a wet Kleenex in her hand.
She turned around and shook my hand! I was appalled. I would never do that.
Right afterwards I walked out of the service - touched the door handle (probably spread it to others) - went to the bathroom to wash my hands. I wish I was more assertive to have said something, but I didn't. I get upset because some people when they get a cold - it stays as a cold - mine doesn't - mine goes into bronchitis and asthma - then I have to take antibiotics, and etc . . .
Do you have any vents you want to get rid of today? Any you want to share?
Write them down - make a copy - rip them up - then let them go.
Now this is kind of fitting today about judgements - that is what we do when we criticize others - right?
Happy Birthday Joan Of Arc - what an interesting woman! (Wikipedia).
She was killed because of unfair judgement.
"The people who came after her in the five centuries since her death tried to make everything of her: demonic fanatic, spiritual mystic, naive and tragically ill-used tool of the powerful, creator and icon of modern popular nationalism, adored heroine, saint. She insisted, even when threatened with torture and faced with death by fire, that she was guided by voices from God. Voices or no voices, her achievements leave anyone who knows her story shaking his head in amazed wonder."
