Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.
- Og Mandino
How about this - not beginning today, but just for THE DAY, do this. Think we can? I don't know with some people it would be so easy - with others . . . I guess these are the ones we're supposed to try harder with! lol
How would it change our lives? Chatty thinkin' today as we go this morning to my GS purple belt testing! He has red, red senior, brown, brown senior - then black belt - sometime next summer!
Happy Birthday Jessica Simpson from Wikipedia -
Jessica Ann Simpson (born July 10, 1980) is an American singer, actress, and television personality who rose to fame in 1999. She has achieved seven Billboard Top 40 hits, and has three gold and two multi-platinum RIAA-certified albums. Simpson starred with her then-husband Nick Lachey in the MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. She ventured into the country music market in 2008 and released Do You Know.
Simpson was born in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Tina and Joe Truett Simpson, who was a minister and psychologist. As a child, she began singing at her local Baptist church. At age twelve, Simpson unsuccessfully auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club.
While attending J.J. Pearce High School, she signed to Proclaim Records, a minor Gospel music record label. She recorded an album, self-titled, "Jessica", but Proclaim went bankrupt and the album was never officially released except for a small pressing funded by her grandmother. This small funding however gained her minor attention and she gave concerts with other acts such as Kirk Franklin, God's Property, and CeCe Winans.
Simpson left high school at age sixteen (she later earned her GED), and after Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola heard "Jessica", she was signed to the label.
At least she kept on trying and didn't give up!

SIMPLY DEBBIE
We would definitely act differently, wouldn't we??
Hope your grandson does well today!!
Hmm ... a great "wake-up" challenge, both for the body and soul! Methinks I need to clip and paste that to the inside of my medicine cabinet... to see every morning.
I didn't know JS was born in Abilene! -- I didn't arrive there 'til '68 (college), but still consider West Texas my REAL home.
I can certainly try! What a great challenge!
Wouldn't it be interesting..if worldwide, we all, accepted this challenge...?
Treating people like this could stop wars and mend hearts. It could thwart crime and stop abuse, suicides and hurting in general!!
Great thoughts, great ideas!
Words to live by.
Good luck to the grandson today!!
Jane
Hey Sandie!
We all would be living so differently if we all did that.
I hope Andy gets his purple belt! I love the color purple!
Hugs,
Angela
Great challenge. I have always tried to live my life like that but @ times it does get hard...what a great challenge, It brings to mind a whole new post. Hope you don't mind if I borrow it.
Good luck to your GS
Molly

Have a great day!
Nancy
Hi Sandie!
Whew.... now THAT'S a challenge, isn't it?
Your Jessica bio was quite interesting. She is a darling girl, isn't she?
By the way, I don't think I ever thanked you for your kind offer.... I am so sorry, that was so rude of me. I'll be keeping that in mind, that's for sure! :-) I can't die without seeing Georgia, but I gather this is NOT the time of year to give it a whirl. :-)
Have a wonderful weekend, and try to stay cool.
Huggies,
Spencer
That's a perfect thought, Sandie, and you know there are people who are harder to love than others. However, it's a challenge to "conquer" them with love! ;-)
XO,
Sheila
Love the philosophy and embrace it (except for Chemistry):-)
If only everyone acted with this thought in mind. Hmm..what a different world it would be.
Good luck GS!
Nice idea to treat everyone like they would be dead by midnight, Sandie. Susan
these boys are amazing, aren't they? I believe it is a brown belt that dug's 8 yr old nephew has.
Sandie, in winter, we sit by the fire in the house. In spring, summer, fall, we have fires in the backyard. It had been so wet, etc. that last wknd was the first fire we had!
hug you, Cheryl
Would be a nicer world if we all thought that way....hope you and your grandson have a good time. Trish
I'm up to that challenge, Sandie. I should have read this before I started working this morning. I have this one doctor who is a terrible dictator and every time I get them, I'm muttering under my breath about them and am always glad when the report is over. I'll have to be kinder to them (even though I have not and will never meet them in person) and remember this quote and think kinder of them!
Hope GS got his purple belt!
betty
Wow Sandie that is something to think about and try. Hard but important. Good post!
loved what you said . I always told my 1st husband I loved him and would be affectionate. One day, we left to go to Tenn. within an hour he was dead from a car accident. i had peace because of what i did and told him. There's an issue sometimes Did they know i loved them? I tell my 2nd husband I love him and kiss him when I'm apart. He always would say "you don't have to do this"my response "You never know if this will be the last time.It can happen.
last time", unfortunately it does happen.
Hi Chatty! Loved your philosophical thinking! It's funny that you mention it because I saw something on TV yesterday that made me think along the same lines....too long to go into now.
How'd your grandson do today?? Hope all went well!
Hey girl
Just came by to say hi and catch up.
Hope all is well.

Yes Sandie you should participate in Pink Saturday you would love it and everyone would LOVE you!
Great thought provoking post again..I think it takes slowing down a bit and just 'thinking'. I always tell my husb I love him morning and night..when I talk to our sons who live away from home I always end i I love you..and they repeat it..Same with my daughterinlove, sister, parents..brother..it matters.
Hugs
Barb
