Full Circle - Chapter 1 - Part 5 (The story started on Monday June 16th has continued every Monday and will continue though the summer.) The story of Annie and Jessie continues . . .

It was at this point in her life, that a miracle had transpired—something absolutely unbelievable and wonderful. This miracle was the catalyst to finally rid herself of those scars once and for all, an action that symbolized her own life was actually starting anew. The surgery would be the final step in the demise of her old life and all the pain that it had contained.

I’ve actually gone through an entire cycle of life, Annie imagined metaphorically as she committed her thoughts to her journal. I once thought I had the perfect life, she mused, and then I completely lost it, almost as if it had been just a dream. I was devastated. I didn’t believe I would survive, nor did I think I even wanted to. Wow, I’ve encountered so many lessons, so many struggles, in my life—all that, just to get where I am today.

Sometimes, she stopped to contemplate as she sat with the diary that had been her faithful companion since her teens, that even though she wouldn’t have thought so at the time, every heartache she recorded would serve to make her life better. Eventually. Pain sometimes makes you work harder, she realized, to get your life in order; to get to the exact place you want to be, even if you’re not aware of it at the time. This was true in her case.

Stay tuned for next Monday.
