Forgive vs. forgetting

One of the secrets of a long and fruitful life is to forgive everybody, everything, every night before you go to bed.-Bernard M. Baruch

I find forgiving easy - it's harder to forget(Lol).

Aren't pugs cute? You know from their adorable faces that God has such a sense of humor!

My friend has a pug - good humored little dog. Your words are thoughtful.

Yes you are right. To forgive is lot easier than forgetting. To completely forget is not possible. It always remains in our sub conscious mind and continue to flash before the mind eyes.

Sometimes the memory of the past flashes before our eyes when a similar incident happens or we hear the same words once said from another or even in the tone of another's words before we can 'stop' the memory from coming back.

That's a sweet pup and it sure invites forgiveness, but I recently read that revenge is better for our health than forgiveness. I like that idea:)

It's true....forgiving is easy....the forgetting keeps popping back in one's head at inopportune times!

It's funny, someone can just say the same words, in the same tone, or it can be the same type situation that comes up and for a quick moment in time - you forget that you're in the here and now -and the old memories come back.

They say you remember everything consciously or unconsciously - that it's stored in the brain.

I find for me at times, that it's like acid. It does more damage to the vessel it's stored in than where it has spilled.
