"Life is lived forward, but understood backward. It is not until we are down the road and we stand on the mountain looking back through the valley that we can appreciate the terrain God has allowed us to scale.” Jill Savage

Slow Down by Chet Day

Chet Day presents
EarthLeaves Meditations
More Musings on Letting Go for Peace of Mind

"For this week's meditation, we turn to one of America's most insightful writers, Henry David Thoreau who tells us...
"Life is too short to be in a hurry."
This week your meditation assignment is to copy and paste Thoreau's great sentence on at least one sheet of paper.
Copy and paste that sentence at least 20 times.
Now, grab a pair of scissors and cut out each sentence you just printed.
Next, tape "Life is too short to be in a hurry" in places that you'll see every day...
On your alarm clock
On your bathroom mirror
On your refrigerator door
On your computer monitor
You get my drift, right? :)
For the next seven days, every single time you see Thoreau's reminder, stop and take at least three long, slow, centering deep breaths and stop hurrying.
This exercise works IF you practice it.
So practice it, by gum, and slow down and be happy!
Until next week,
Chet

Good idea - I often wonder why I rush around being I'm retired.

I grew up hurrying. There were even signs on our streets and bridge that said "HUBBA HUBBA" to encourage us!!!
