Ed Sullivan was born today in 1901. I remember him best for having the Beatles on in 1964.
Did you know according to Wikipedia - "There was another side to Sullivan: he could be very quick to take offense if he felt he had been crossed, and could hold a grudge for a long time. This could unfortunately be seen as a part of his TV personality. Jackie Mason, Bo Diddley, Buddy Holly, and The Doors became intimately familiar with Sullivan's negative side. Paul McCartney once said he ran into Ed a few years after the Beatles famous appearances in 1964 and 1965. He said "Ed acted as if he didn't know or failed to remember me"."
Update on our neighborhood flooding - the street is back - not totally, but much better.
This weekend we went to Cullowhee, North Carolina - home of Western Carolina University which I have to say is one beautiful university. We got in late Friday night and it was pitch black and pouring rain. I had an address to the GPS and I had the actual address which was different. Anyway - we arrived - finally - a little grumpy and frazzled. It was a gorgeous cabin.
Here is Chatty and Andy - grandpa was going to watch him and Kelly, my daughter, and I were going to go to the college and see the band Cullowhee. I had heard their songs before - they are at the bottom right of my blog - but had never seen them in person. (More about the band tomorrow). My hair when there is moisture around - kind of frizzes and balloons out!!!!!!!
Don't you love his smile!

He is one of my sources of joy!
