Apple picking season

MEMORIES
Well, this past weekend was Apple pickin' time in the north Georgia mountains. When my k ids were little I read a book by Shirley Dobson - James Dobson's wife - about making memories - traditions in families and how important it was. SO we go to the Hillcrest Apple Festival in Elijay, GA every fall. You never get to old for the fun of apples. . .
It always starts at Poole's Bar-B-Que - that's his truck, him in it, and the truck actually oinks - a lot! You buy a little pig and put your name on it and then it gets put out. Andy has one there and many famous people too.

You can pick the apples about three weeks in October - the rest of the time you just buy them. Lots of bees - but then again apple trees need the bees.

This year they added a bungee jump. Boy he had the best time of his life. There were pony rides. A hayride through Oz. Slides. Everything.

And the petting zoo. Andy is the most gentle and kind little boy to these animals and they knew it - they all felt safe.

This was a dog he wanted to adopt!

Holding a goat.

Holding a duck.

Looking at the pigs at the petting zoo.
So the three of us had a great time and great memories to put away in our mind's memory book.

BIRTHDAYS - some pretty awesome women today:

Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher LG, OM, PC, FRS (born 13 October 1925) served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She is the only woman to have held either post.

Molly Pitcher was a nickname given to a woman who may have fought in the American Revolutionary War.

Love,

Chatty
