I'M BACK!

I'm home and while there is no place like home there is nothing like family either. Why did we start the habit of moving away from the family? When my husband grew up - all his family lived within a few blocks of each other. Now we live on opposite sides of the US or in Alaska and Hawaii or even another country.

I'm glad and sad to be home. I'm tired. Way behind in things to do. So I am going to take you on a vacation today.

Sit back and relax:

Hope you found some joy today.

Happy Birthday Jane Russell (Wikipedia) -

Russell had three husbands: Bob Waterfield; actor Roger Barrett through his death; and real-estate broker John Calvin Peoples through his death on April 9, 1999. Russell and Mr. Peoples lived in Sedona, Arizona, for a few years but they spent the majority of their married life residing in Montecito, California

In February 1952, she and Waterfield adopted a baby girl, Tracy. In December 1952, they adopted a fifteen-month-old boy, Thomas, and in 1956 she and Waterfield adopted a nine-month-old boy, Robert John. Russell herself was unable to have children and, in 1955, she founded World Adoption International Fund, an organization to place children with adoptive families that pioneered adoptions from foreign countries by Americans.

At the height of her career, Russell started the "Hollywood Christian Group," a weekly Bible study at her home which was arranged for Christians in the film industry. Russell appeared occasionally on the Praise The Lord program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, a Christian television channel based in Costa Mesa, California.

Russell was at times a prominent Republican Party member who attended Dwight Eisenhower's inauguration along with the notables from Hollywood, Lou Costello, Dick Powell, June Allyson, Anita Louise, and Louella Parsons.

For the past several years, Russell has resided in the Santa Maria Valley along the Central Coast of California.

I didn't know any of this about her - sounds like a great lady.

that was interesting about Jane Russell starting that weekly Bible study group; I didn't know that about her; sounds like a wonderful lady!

loved the joy movie too; lots of good quotes in it and beautiful scenery. I liked the last quote of finding your joy and sharing it with others. My joy is in the Lord and I hope I can find a way to share him more with others.....

I think I might have said this before, but can't remember if I did (senior moment, LOL) but we were going through a rough patch with that son of ours and I remember just having a lot of despair but at the same time I was doing this Beth Moore Bible study on Fruit of the Spirit and the week we studied joy, I remember waking up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom, and as I was lying back down trying to go to sleep, I remember thinking "my name is written in the book of life, that is joy!" and even though we still went through a continued rough patch, that brought me incredible peace knowing this world is not all there is :)

welcome back!!!!!!!!!!!

We are glad you're back! WE MISSED YOU! I'm also glad you got a chance to be with family. I ask myself that same thing all the time because I'm so far from mine. Sigh. I miss them. But my friends are like my family, and I thank the Lord for that.

XO,

Sheila :-)
