For 2018

Fun Friday with a little help from my friends . . .

These pics were taken from an airplane and you have to guess where the location is.

There are 16 photos and you probably won't get a perfect score and will also miss at least one you'll say you should have got!

A 98-year-old Mother Superior from Ireland was dying. The nuns gathered around her bed trying to make her last journey comfortable. They tried giving her some warm milk to drink but she refused it.
One of the nuns took the glass back to the kitchen and remembering a bottle of Irish whiskey received as a gift the previous Christmas, she opened it and poured a generous amount into the warm milk.
Back at Mother Superior's bed, she held the glass to her lips. Mother drank a little.... then a little more. Before they knew it, she had drunk the whole glass down to the last drop.

"Mother," the nuns asked earnestly, "please give us some wisdom before you die."

She raised herself up in bed and whispered, "Don't sell that cow."

Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her Excitement -- not even her parent's nasty divorce. Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the Best-dressed mother-of-the-bride ever!

A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new young wife had bought the exact same dress as her mother! Jennifer asked her father's new young wife to exchange it, but she Refused.

'Absolutely not. I look like a million bucks in this dress, And I'm wearing it,' she replied.

Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, 'Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day.'

A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous dress. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, 'Aren't you going to return the other dress? You really don't have Another occasion where you could wear it.

Her mother just smiled and replied, 'Of course I do, dear. I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.'

Happy Birthday to Carly Simon - wikipedia -

Simon married fellow singer-songwriter James Taylor on November 3, 1972.] Simon and Taylor had two children, Sarah "Sally" Maria Taylor and Benjamin Simon Taylor, both of whom are musicians and political activists. Simon and Taylor divorced in 1983. In the June 20, 2004, issue of, Simon said that she no longer speaks to her ex-husband, James Taylor. "I would say our relationship is non-existent. It's not the way I want it." On October 4, 2007, Simon became a grandmother, when her daughter Sally gave birth to a son, Bodhi Taylor Bragonier.

Simon underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and reconstructive surgery for breast cancer during 1997 and 1998. She had possessed a lump on her breast for several years before then, but her doctors had advised her against surgery. Simon later recounted: "Then one doctor said, 'You know what, I'd rather see it in a jar than in your breast.'" She also said that she felt "a little angry with myself" over the fact that she didn't insist on taking it out sooner. Simon's surgery came at the same time as her long-time friend Linda McCartney's tragic death, after McCartney's own struggles with breast cancer. Her death emotionally "crushed" Simon.

Simon currently lives on Martha's Vineyard and is associated with a store in Vineyard Haven named Midnight Farm, the title of one of her series of children's books from the late 1980s and 1990s

Simon has been close friends with James Taylor's younger brother Livingston Taylor for over forty years. Livingston has said, "I love Carly and Carly loves me. She's a ferocious advocate and supporter of my music." They have worked as a musical duo for some songs such as "Best of Friends", released in Livingston's 2006 album There You Are Again, and others earlier in their careers.

And that is the end of the story.

Always a pleasure to read your Fun Friday posts.

What a shame that two people who share children and a grandchild have a non-existent relationship, but who knows what happened in the lives of Simon and Taylor that led to this.

Hi Sweetie...
Sounds like you have been outside and about. I can't wait for you to post all about it.

Your post so made me smile and laugh this evening. I especially loved the wedding dress of the Mother. She is one clever gal isn't she?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am trying really hard to get back up on my feet. Hopefully when I see the doc on July 9th he will release me to the great outdoors. I am so anxious to go out.

I will stop by again soon. You always lift me up with laughter. Country hugs sweetie and much love, Sherry
