Back on the road again

Back on the road again . . .

On to the city of a million lights - Las Vegas - we stayed at New York, New York.

Now this is the MGM Grand and it is grand. This is there lion.

Anybody recognize this? It is the Rain Forest Cafe in the MGM Hotel.

We walked the streets and Spider Man was there!

And the M&M family. And yes we did buy some.

Who else was in Las Vegas? Star Wars of course - a Storm Trouper and Darth Vader.
Of course the GS had to fight against them to save us!

Well good thing we're not gamblers or drinkers. Of course the GS couldn't go on the casino's floors, but that was okay with us. It was HOT here. We went to Margarettaville, Rain Forest Cafe, saw the real Lions in the MGM, M&M store, Hard Rock Cafe, Caesar's Palace and more.

Happy Birthday - Dawna Markova

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
Of falling of catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
To allow my living to open me,
To make me less afraid,
More accessible,
To loosen my heart
Until it becomes a wing,
A torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance,
To live so that which came to me as seed
Goes to the next blossom,
And that which came to me as blossom,
Goes on as fruit.

sounds like you guys ate well when you were in Las Vegas, Sandie! I like the Hard Rock Cafe and the Rainforest Cafe! It is good that Las Vegas has some kid oriented activities to do; I know they have been trying to make it more family friendly. We were there years ago with the kids when they were small and it seemed to me they had a children's museum which was fun to go to and then we drove down to Henderson and toured the marshmellow factory (don't even know if it still there) and that was fun to see how they make marshemellows

love the pictures :)

I am glad you-all enjoyed yourselves in Vegas. I was actually rather disappointed with the place, but on the other hand, I didn't take advantage of all of the amenities available. Furthermore, they hadn't built the Venetian, nor the Bellagio, the last time I was out there, and I think I would have really enjoyed seeing them.

You had a great time there -- I'd never think of Las Vegas as a great place for a vacation with a kid, but looks like it was tons of fun. Who cares about the casino floors anyway -- I know I wouldn't.

It's probably been 10 years since we were there and it was horribly hot. We ate the New York New York I remember. (We were staying in an RV Park, but you probably could have guessed that)

Good Morning, Sandie,
Looks like you had a fabulous trip. We were in Vegas in June for 3 days. We stayed at Mandalay Bay...relaxing by the pool is the best part! I don't like the gambling either.

Have a thoughtful Thursday. ~Natalie

We love the Rain Forest Cafe! We don't drink or Gamble either, but there is just so much to see there and we've gone several times over the years. I love the fountain with the Pegasus horses in Caesar's Palace! There is a store just across from them, that has sculptures (or did) that I just love looking through.
