I love Christmas don't you?

Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told, 'I'm with you kid. Let's go.'
- Maya Angelou

He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.

I found this beautiful winter poem and thought it might be a comfort to you.
It was to me and it's very well written and I hope that you enjoy it too.

Hi Sandie, I love your cartoon today, I think that sentiment could be said over a good part of the country except out here, it was 60 degrees at 5 am..lots of cloud cover which keeps us warmer..

Have a wonderful if not chilly, day!

Sandie, Thank you for your sweet comment at my newest post (finally a new post) at my blog.
I love your poem. I do believe I can interpret the author's purpose of this darling piece of poetry:-)

Oh, that cartoon stirred up some memories and a laugh! I don't like fruitcake. I used to like the fruit but not the nuts. One Christmas when I was a child, my dad's aunt (a very prim & proper elderly lady who had no children) came to visit over the holidays. My mom served fruitcake and I sat there, picking out all the nuts and eating the rest. The aunt proceeded to lecture my mom on how I should behave and needless to say no one was very happy! I've disliked fruit cake ever since!

OK, love the cartoon. What the heck is in those things anyway?? All I have ever been able to figure out is a bunch of little hard things that make me gag just looking at them.

Sorry to all those fruitcake-lovers out there. And to all the fruitcakes...

Inspirational poem. Only one comment to that:
"Bah Humbug."

I adore the Maya Angelou poem, and isn't that what we both do? I'm so late with many comments, had a really busy day!

got me with the inspirational poem, Sandie! I fell for it! too funny! you know, I liked one type of fruit cake my mom got every year from someone she worked for. It was moist and very tasty! Otherwise, they are usually so dry and crumbly. Loved that site you listed; if I had young kids, I'd have tons of fun there figuring out things for them to do!

hope you got your tree up???

Howdy Sandie....Well it is the middle of the night and I'm here laughing away at your post...the poem is to funny...and I love fruitcake only when it comes in the form of nutty bloggie friends...ever wonder how the phrase or saying SHE is a fruitcake came about? Hmmm they must have loved me too! Grin!

I totally LOVE a good fruitcake with lots of nuts, a smaller amount of candied fruit, and a slight taste of brandy or some such. The trouble is that most people use walnuts and I'm allergic... :(

I've got to quit reading this at night so I won't wake up Mike with a sudden loud laugh!
