Saturday Meditations - Joys and Concerns , , ,

If I haven't thanked all my followers for following me - THANK YOU. I try to answer each and every comment in an email rather then on my blog - I'm not sure if people go back to read it or not. So send me your email or blog address and I'm there. Welcome to my new gals - my journey with blogging has taken me around the wonderful United States of America - England, Australia, and more. I am beginning to 'learn' more about the world and I just love that. Each day I can honestly tell you I learn something I didn't know - so for that I thank you too.

I have got to talk to someone from Germany, from Illinois my old home state, and from Australia yesterday - and she talks kind of funny! lol I've have met so many wonderful women and even a couple men. And you know what? You are all great people.

It is so funny as the news is always filled with so much bad news about people - but the world is filled with good people we never hear about.

This week has been hard for me underneath all this joy - as one of my nearest and dearest friends might be dying. She is 53. She lives in Roanoke Virginia - we used to work together before she moved there, she woke up last Monday sick as a dog and thought she was having a heart attack. The ambulance got her - her gallbladder leaked into the stomach, she developed pancreatitis, and now is suffering from an infection in her lungs and she is sedated and they are having an extremely hard time trying to remove the breathing tube so far - it doesn't look good - her name is Debbie - so if you would say a little prayer for her I'd appreciate it.

Life is never fair and full of unkind surprises. But it does go on . . . and you still have to make the best of it. My heart is heavy.

Now to Texas where the Superbowl is - sounds like you have a mess going on there . . . with all that snow - good luck.

A thought for the day:

"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow." Author Unknown

A little laughter:

I want to end this with the biggest thank you ever - I have met so many wonderful friends on here and you are a big part of my life. I love you. Sandie

Sandie, please know I'm holding your sweet friend in my prayers ... life is so fragile. Here we were just an hour ago going about our Saturday errands, not a care in the world ... when all around so many hearts are burdened. What ordinary blessings we take for granted.
Please, won't you keep us updated on her recovery?

Hi there. My prayers will certainly be for your friend Debbie. How awful for her family and friends. I pray that His healing spirit may make her well again. Things like that really pull you up and make you realize just how fragile life is. Like you, I feel that I am so blessed with my lovely blogging friends. They really do seem like caring, genuine people. I love that Dream as if you'll live for ever...." quote, and I hope that you won't mind if I borrow it. Take care.

Hi Sandie~
Our thoughts and events in our lives are at a parallel today!
I am going to be posting about my best friend today...she is battling cancer. I will hold your dear friend in my thoughts too.

You my dear, are a blessing to everyone who reads your blog and I only wish I could be one of the fortunate people who get to share the same airspace as you!

I hope your day is good and your heart feels lighter when your head hits the pillow tonight.
Take Care~

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Sandie. I do pray that she will be healed and make it through her sickness. Life can be too short for some and it is a sad thing. I always rejoice when I read the obituaries of those who have passed and see that they lived up into their 90's and even 100.

I'm amazed at the friendships that we make through blogging! I'm glad that you are my friend!

Hugs,
Angela

I couldn't agree more that I have met the best people ever. I think when you expose a bit of your heart, your heart just gets bigger. That's my hypothesis, and I'm sticking with it.

I CAN pray for Debbie and will remember because of the name. A family friend went through an unexpected crisis similar where toxins leaked into his vitals. They almost lost him, but PRAISE GOD he has fully recovered now. Please know that Debbie's story is not written yet.

And thanks for the laugh in the fish bowl. I'm chuckling again thinking about it.

Missed being able to read blogs as much this week. I knew that if I came here, I would leave with a smile.

Sandie, you really, really are a sweet ol' gal, you know it?
So sorry to hear about Debbie's woes. Will sure be hoping for the best for her. Now, as we all get older, this type of thing is going to happen more often. I remember when my mom's galpals started to pass. They met for coffee and walked daily, shared their lives, then suddenly, one by one, they passed on. She, is the last one from her original gang now. She's met younger friends, and stays in touch with them. I agree with Mev in Arizona, we all take our lives so for granted, and our health as well. We must be more aware how blessed we are, if healthy, and still able to move, and do our errands freely. Blessings are all around us. Rejoice! hugs.

Oh, I am so sorry about Debbie, I will pray. god can turn it around, but if not, this was in his plan. This is strange because my best friend here in Virginia, just an hour from Roanoke, just got news that her ovarian cancer may have returned. I am heartbroken.

Ohhhhh, Sandie. Poor Debbie. With many prayers being offered for her, she can recover. I'll add mine as well. God bless that girl.

Loved your Mark Twain quote. So many cute things on the post, too. The goldfish whistling joke was a hoot. You always find the greatest things.

Thank YOU, dear Sandie, for making the world a better, gentler place. To be able to bring smiles to so many people is a huge gift. So thank YOU and God bless you, too. Susan

Sandie - Right back at you! You are a treasure that I have found - a friend indeed.

I will pray for Debbie - how horribly sad. I will pray, of course, for her recovery - and for her family's strength during this very difficult time.

Thanks for the cartoon - you consistently make me smile. And it's SO good to smile...

Hi Sandi. I'm so sorry for your friend. We never know when our health will suddenly take a turn for the worse do we. All we can do is pray and live each day to its fullest. Hope she's doing better.

I love your blog - it's always the first one I read, although I don't always comment. Your positive attitude and humor is refreshing and a welcome part of my day.
