Thursdays A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That . . . . . .

Remember back this week about the oranges - everyone did kind of something similar to their personalities or talents with that orange - it was so wonderful and insightful.

Barbara is a writer - so what did she do? She wrote a poem!

Enjoy An Orange Today

Eating an orange is a wonderful treat.

It is juicy, so juicy, and fun to eat.

Coming from Florida, the Sunshine State,

Having one daily would be so great.

The flavor from orange zest will dress up a dish.

Use it in cakes, custards, or even on fish.

Eating an orange is a good activity.

It’s also wonderful for Vitamin C.

Now, It's Random But It's Relevant To Me by Sharon gave me an award last week - and I'm so late in writing it up and thanking her. She's new to my blog but go check her out - she's an amazing woman. Thank you for nominating me. Each one of her seven items was fabulous and I'm not sure I can come up with some, but I will try - even though I am late.

The rules for this Award are as follows:

Link to the person who awarded you: CHECK
Seven unknown facts about yourself: CHECK
Award to seven other people: CHECK
Now do remember my blog has a lot to do with nothing - but it is for fun and friendship . . .

1. When I was 11 and my brother was 18, my dad (who was VP of Greyhound, Inc.) stuck us on a bus - with no parents or chaperone's, and sent us off for two weeks to see the New York Worlds Fair. We traveled also to Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, etc. to see all the historical markers. I cried from the minute I got on the bus until I got home. My poor brother. He finally found an answer - he would find a movie theater playing I think it was the Beatles's A Hard Day's Night - and I would stay in there from morning until night. He saw the sites and I saw the movie! I must have seen it over 100 times!

2. I have all the original vinyl records of the Beatles - in excellent condition.

3. And why I am stuck on the Beatles's I don't know - but I saw them in 1963 when I was 10 at the Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. My brother had to take me there too! Now I didn't scream, but I can tell it that there were so many screams - you couldn't hear the Beatles's at all. Paul was my favorite.
4. Heights make my knees and body wobbly when I look down!

5. I gave my grandson a Butterscotch once and he literally started to choke on it - he turned blue - he looked at me with those big brown eyes for help. I did the Heimlich on him and the candy went flying out - I will NEVER give him hard candy again!

6. I was born in Chicago and lived there 5 years - moved to Atlanta lived here 10 years - moved back to Chicago and lived there 18 years - and moved back to Atlanta for 25 years - whew.

7. My birthday is the same day as Elizabeth Taylor's - she is 20 years older (and it's this month - I'll be 58).

My seven victims, I mean nominees are (my new followers) :

1. Barbara Hodges at God Whispers in my Ear

I hope this is a compliment - anyway if you're too busy and can't do it - no problem with me - I do understand! A couple of new followers I couldn't find your blog address - sorry!

Debbie From SIMPLY DEBBIE
gave me this award - again to tell seven things about myself - so as I don't have that many interesting things I am going to use the same 7 above. And I would like to award this to all my followers - I hope a few of you take me up on it!

PS My other friend Debbie was taken off the respirator and heavy drugs to see what happens - so hopefully this is a great sign. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS!

Good morning, I guess I have to go back and try to figure out the orange post and find out who Debbie is, but I'm glad she's doing better.

Congratulations on the award. I enjoyed learning more about you, but what day is your Birthday?

Love,
Doris

So frustrating when you get a new follower and can't find their blog!

Now I want an orange.

Impressed with the trip with your brother, at such a young age. Must've been scary for an 11 year old.

I want to know if your brother still talks to you after that trip, ha! I would have loved to see the beatles but I was just an infant then. Love, love, their music and I don't think there will be anyone else like them!

Hugs,
Jacalyn

Well those are some interesting facts about you Sandi...couldn't do that now with kids. I remember my mom letting me take the bus by myself into downtown when I was 11, couldn't do that either now. Times sure have changed. Loved the cartoon at the end.

So glad to hear Debbie is doing better...let the prayers continue for her.

Thanks for your nice comment too.

Hello Dear Sandie....Great post, as always. So elated to hear news of Debbie. We must keep the prayers coming! So important.

My niece almost choked to death on a white lifesaver when she was little. My sister did the Heimlich on her. It's SO SCARY. So glad GS came out of it okay.

Take care, and have a super day. Susan

Wow! I can't imagine being loose on a bus at eleven! Traveling with only a sibling. Amazing! You will have to tell us your BD! Otherwise we will just have to wish you Happy Birthmonth!!

Sandie, you are SUPER!!!! Thank you for sharing the poem. Guess what? Another "coincidence" for us. My birthday is this month too and my daughter, Allison's birthday is the day after yours. (I looked up Elizabeth Taylor's date:)) Thank you for the nomination. I will work on my list.

I have that same thing happen with followers. I hate to feel as if I'm ignoring them. I usually hope they will comment because the trail is easier to follow that way.

I love your seven things about yourself. We did the same thing with a peppermint and my niece. Scared out of me what the dog misunderstood in the last cartoon.

Try to follow that train of thought.

Grin.

How fun to find out that you suffered a bit from Beatlemania!!

I TOTALLY agree with your #4. Just looking at that picture made me feel woozy (it really did...)

When my son attended UCLA, we went out to a restaurant and I SAW Elizabeth Taylor. I kept staring at her - I just couldn't believe I was seeing her in person. I'm sure she thought I was some weird stalker or something! She was beautiful in real life, too...

Trying to find the courage to be bold with my dreams.

GOD BLESS!

I'm sooooo envious of your having the opportunity to see the Beatles perform live. I was a HUGE fan (George was my fav), much to my parent's dismay :)

My DH is from Chicago originally ... one of these days I hope to get to see it.

Thanks for the good-news report on your friend!
