Wednesday - Hump Day

Just in Case You Have Nothing Better to Do
(i.e. Bored)
Just Click on the Door Stop and THEN
click on the larger image.......

Well that didn't work - didn't know how to get the picture where it's supposed to be. I made another attempt. Click on the empty box below where the above picture SHOULD show/be and doesn't. lol Did you get that?

Click on the empty picture.

Hope this can keep your spirits up and remember - we have half the week to go or half the week is over - however you think about 'hump' day.

Now here is something Biblical - Sandra (Madsnapper) reminded me of this verse yesterday. And I believe laughter is good for the heart and soul and keep our bodies and minds healthier. I carry this quote in my purse, but I think I'm going to make some copies and put it around the house to remind me and others! Just reminds us to keep a sense of humor - it's good for us!

International Version -
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

New Living Translation -
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.

English Standard Version -
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

New American Standard Bible -
A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.

King James Bible -
A merry heart doeth good [like] a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

American Standard Version -
A cheerful heart is a good medicine; But a broken spirit drieth up the bones.

All basically the same - whatever version you like.

Now how about this quote:

“It takes generosity to discover the whole through others. If you realize you are only a violin, you can open yourself up to the world by playing your role in the concert.”
—Jacques Cousteau (1910-1997);marine biologist, diver, explorer

I kind of think of my blog friends in this way and it doesn't matter who the violin is - let's say we are all the violins in our own orchestras - and the other bloggers are all the other instruments - and make a complete orchestra. Imagine the music - or wait - we can imagine the music - it is the friendships and comments we send and receive.

Are you with me?

What would blogs be without the other pieces of the orchestra? They wouldn't be here at all. The blog system would not be here - blogs will not work withoug others. I have 199 wonderful instruments in my orchestra and I thank all my parts that make me a better and happier person.

Love,

Chatty

Hi -- I found you thru Susan's blog -- A Southern Daydreamer. Love your orchestra, but I'm afraid I'd end up as the homemade comb-and-wax-paper combo in any orchestra, or if I'm lucky a pair of rhythm sticks.

I do love blogging, and still can't get over that anyone reads mine -- and now I'm reading yours! And it's delightful.
Best wishes, Cass

A very good post, Sandie!! I just KNEW what that doorstop was going to do! How silly and useless, just MY kind of thing!! Ha ha! The girls will love it, you always entertain them endlessly! I love how you did all the translations of that verse! Now, what instrument am I in your blog orchestra? No, wait a minnute, better not answer that! I wouldn't want to be a bassoon or a tuba!!

Yes, it's the connections out here that are so special. I agree!!!

How did they get that doorstop thing to wiggle? So cool!

Hey you - 200 Followers. Yay! Congratulations! I loved the remarks about the violins and the orchestra. Certainly I wouldn't want to be without my blogging friends now. Thanks for always bringing laughter into our lives, Chatty!

Sandie, I'm sitting here cracking up. I clicked that door stopper and just about jumped out of my chair! That was hysterical.

It is SO good to laugh. This life can be so dreary that a good laugh is what we need to chase away the dullness.

You are HILARIOUS. Susan

If I were a kitty - cat I would have played with that door stop all day, but as it is, it made me dizzy clicking at it twice LOL

It's hot again today - buh, humbug!

i am with you on this.. I want to be the fiddle... so i can fiddle away my time on this infernal machine. ha ha love the verse in all the translations, i learned it first as a child in KJV but like all of them. a good reminder. and i like the orchestra ting a lot, that is what a church should be, a family, a workplace, all of us each with our own tune to play blending together

I was hoping you would have a Sandie version of that verse - just think of how creative you could get!

Love the correlation to an orchestra. It's funny because this morning I was think how much blogging has brought into my life. So many new friends, and you can never have enough of those!

Debbie said...

I'm with you 100% on it. It is quite a symphony, too.

Can I be the tuba?
I've always wanted to be the tuba.

That was funny, yes I feel days where I would sit and flick at that all day....

I love the post! I think it is amazing how we can have friends all over the world to share our lives with. We learn about each other and who our families are, we pray when someone is ill or has lost a loved one. And most important as you have done here today we can share our faith in the Lord and what he had done and is doing in our life so others will see His glory!

Your sister through Him

I liked the door stopper bopping all around (I know, I need a life, LOL)

I love how you compared an orchestra to bloggers; very good analogy and so true! I am so happy to be part of your orchestra!!!!

that is a good scripture around for a reminder too to be cheerful and to enjoy life and to laugh as we can!
