Silent Monks Singing ???

Actually - it was a group of high school students playing monks - 'singing' it silently. Funny though AND it is one of my favorite songs.

Thought for the day:

When you are reluctant to change, think of the beauty of autumn.

-Submitted By Vbbrown

To me these kids took a risk - they changed something - and that is a trait I truly admire.

Happy Sunday. God bless!

I turned comments off yesterday - I was trying it any way - thinking that I was giving you a break from having to comment every day - but I don't think it worked so well. I just don't want anyone overworked or overwhelmed here. Maybe I should write less . . . what do you think? Honestly - I want this place to be fun.

Good Morning Sandie,
Great post, and I enjoyed watching that movie of the silent Monk's singing - that was so cool. They did a brilliant job with that performance.
Happy Halloween to you and hope that you have a lovely weekend. I am having a relaxing one - the party last night was great fun :) Have a lovely Sunday! Hugs x

And so why did you decide to turn off comments yesterday?

The video was cute but somehow laughter during the Halleluiah Chorus just doesn't seem right.

I loved the Monks video. Delightful.

I was wondering why you turned off comments yesterday. I didn't like it. I love your blog and it always makes me smile but I like the ability to interact with you.

I think those kids did a brilliant job. Very creative.
I occasionally turn off comments so that I can take a break from responding to emails. Rather selfish on my part I suppose.
Since it's your blog I think you should do what feels right for you and what makes you happy. People will either stick around and read or they won't but if it's not fun for you then it's not worth it :)

I was impressed with the video. That was not a easy task and interesting how they were able to express the difference in the music by their movements.
I think Ann gave you the best answer on your blog question:)

Interesting video. The kids did a good job. Have a great Sunday.

That was GREAT!! i really enjoyed it. And I love this song as well. I always end up crying at the end even when it was performed in a funny way as these kids did! Enjoy your Sunday. Nothing wrong with taking a break once in awhile, just don't make a habit out of it, okay?

Well, I wanted to comment that my husband birthday is 11-11-11! This will be his lucky year. And it's always good to try something new and take a chance, I say! Ann

You post "jus right". Comments are not mandatory, just an opportunity to keep the lines of communication open. If I like, or have a question about a posting, its nice to be able to ask.

I did enjoy the song, and your insight. Have a good Sunday.

Hi Sandie -

Aww, you're so thoughtful! People come here on different days and look forward to commenting. At least I do. :)

Have a great Sunday!

Blessings,

I go with leaving the comments on, Sandie, people can comment or not, but we like that comment box, LOL :)

I hope you have a great Sunday! Restful and relaxful and something fun!!

Don't post less! (well, unless you just want to skip some days). My feeling on the comments is that I'll comment when I have something I want to say, or when I have time, or... You see, the commenting part is my decision, just like the posting is yours (again, unless there's a day that you just don't want to receive comments back!).

I love that video. And I love the fall! The change is refreshing and gives my step a extra bounce!

That was an outstanding job by those high schoolers!
I truly enjoy visiting here everyday. If you need a day off then you should take it. I don't want a day off from you. :)
Love,

i vote do not turn off the comments. it takes as long to try to find the missing comments as i does to comment and people can comment or not. which a lot of them do. for me, the comments are part of why i post, if no once says anything how do i know they were there, i like getting emails and reading the comments as much as posting the post.
as for changing your blog, i agree it is yours to do what you want. what i do, if i go to a blog and it is longer than i want to read, i read the part i want to and skip the rest. i pick the part of your post that i like. you know i don't play games, don't like games or anything that requires thinking. so i read the jokes and look at the cartoons and skip the games. but there are some who love the games. so do what you want to do.

I do enjoy that video, have seen it before but I liked watching it again. I don't care for comments off. I wanted to comment yesterday to you. I do believe that there are some cases where it might be right to turn them off but that is rare. I have some friends that I read who turn their comments off on occasion. So now when I go there I go to the bottom to see if I can comment before I read. If I can't comment I usually will not read. Comments are what I enjoy.
Have a nice Sunday.

Love the monk video!!!! Yes, I guess everyone thought something was wrong that there was no place to comment, like me??? Well, you are asking us to be honest, right? Your posts can get pretty long, especially if I have a whole lot of others to read. BUT you have so many good things on them, I don't know how you would choose what to omit. I have gotten so many laughs and learned so much here, I would hate not to have seen and read everything, so it could be a dilemma. I do not follow most people whose posts are this long, but I have to follow you as an exception, because I just LOVE it here and the time is well spent. I really look forward to seeing what you have every day and you never disappoint. I hope you are O.K with my honesty!!!!! You ROCK!!!!

Hi Sandie, you know I love your blog, but sometimes I don't have time to watch videos at the time I'm looking a blog. But I try to remember to look at it when I have more time! Hope that makes sense! Talk to ya later. Have a good week!

I like the comments on and I like that you blog a lot. You have such a cheerful and thoughtful blog. I always appreciate what you write! The monks were great.

Why turn off comments? If we don't want to comment, we won't. Do you not like to read comments and answer them?

Debbie said...

Oh please, don't write less! Your blog is one place I love to come. Usually you make me laugh out loud. Sometimes, you just make me nod and think.

If I can't get here every day, I just try to catch up on hop on the train in progress.

Love this video! And listen, you just let us worry about commentin' hear? I was wondering why you turned the comments off and couldn't figure out why you didn't want to hear from us. In all seriousness, I doubt we are feeling obligated. We LOVE you.

Eat To Live said...

Really cute video Sandie!!

I guess turning off the comments didn't work so well. Oh well, you have to figure this out so it is easy for you. We will adapt.

I totally echo Debbie's sentiments, Sandie. PLEASE don't stop ... you're my Vitamin F!!!

PS - Love that quote about change and autumn.

Unless a blog is related to a business, I think of them as journal pages we choose to share with the world. Anything you wish to include is what you should include.

I don't think your entries have ever been too long, but I have enjoyed columnists for years so I am accustomed to reading more than a few sentences per anyone's blog entry.

I don't think anyone should feel bad if they can't reply to everyone who comments on a given day. Conversely, some days I am pressed for time and read blogs on the run and can't comment right away.

Do you read any blogs that have a huge following like Pioneer Woman? I seldom comment there because her comments are usually in the hundreds. I doubt she replies to many but I still visit her blog because I enjoy it.

Blogging should be without pressure. If not, it is another job and I don't need another one!

I didn't mean to end abruptly but I didn't know how to navigate preview mode on the iPad. Please don't change a thing, either content, frequency or comment availability based on what you think anyone else wants.

This is your show my dear, and you're running it quite nicely! :-)

LOL! LOVE how they extend a word when it is drawn out over several beats!!

Sandie, I think you should do your blog just like you feel like doing it!! We will either have time to comment or not... we love you for just what you are, not an expectation from anyone else. blessings ~ tanna

I also love "The Hallelujah Chorus" - it just brings me to my feet and makes me cry with joy every time. I've seen these "monks" sing - didn't they do a great job??

Sandie - even though I sometimes have to play "catch-up" with your blog, keep those comments ON! I can't imagine not having the chance to talk back... :)
