Animal Tails

Do you remember the Tea-berry Shuffle? You should have seen me today. I have been so incredibly sad - yes - sad - over losing my comments being sent to me from blogger. Guess what - my husband actually sat with me today and we worked on it and GUESS WHAT?
He fixed it - it was Comcast - when they did some fancy changes to Xfinity - they just changed my spam - and believe me - hubby worked hard getting into the innards of this issue.
So thank you Rick. I feel sooooooooooooooooooooo much better. Am I addicted to blogging or what?

My grandson and daughter decorated our yard.

This is our flamingo!

Went to his Fun Festival at school and climbed the rock wall.

Here is my GS - he was a Star War character. Here is Disco playing a candy thief!

The Squirrel Saga Continues

Now this is squirrel number 4 in our attic - they must think we are running a hotel or something. So you would think we know nothing about squirrels - but alas we do - we could write a book about them. And we have done everything and have spent a small fortune on the house. Even had flashing put on and new gutter covers and the house sealed.

But can you believe we have one more to up there. We cage them and bring them a couple of miles from here - but this is getting crazy !
Disco had no idea what that was. He was smelling him here.

Okay one victory for us vs. the squirrels - we finally put our squirrel proof feeder out again. Last time the squirrels got into it. Therefore no birds. See the bottom ring - when a heavy squirrel gets on it - it activates it to go around and around and swing him off.

This time - it's a miracle - NO SQUIRRELS.

It is one for the squirrels and one for us!
Off to get one more squirrel.

"The mountain represents your purpose in life. You and your people will enjoy the greatest success and satisfaction if you relentlessly pursue your purpose." ~ Paul Stoltz

Does this mean my purpose is to catch squirrels?
Na - it probably means I need to learn more patience.
What is your mountain?

PS One more thing - I have made a decision to leave the comments on. Write what I need to write. Let you write if you want to comment. And let God do the rest. Thanks everyone for your comments yesterday.

I also had a problem this weekend with Blogger. I was getting comments on my posts, but it was showing no pageviews. I went on help and reported this. Because it was a something that many other people were experiencing, they got an engineer on the case and now everything works fine. I have found that with Blogger, it is always something.

NOOOO NOOOOO, Not the squirrels again. Oh dear oh dear, Sandie. That is HORRID. Cheeze. What else could you do? Put a Doberman up there in the attic or something? Gosh. You guys have really "squirrely" luck. I sure hope you can find a way to irradicate them. Take care and have a good Tuesday. Susan

I do remember the TeaBerry Shuffle. I also remember Black Jack Gum.

You know, my aol messes up my blogger all the time. I am about ready to ditch them.

As for the squirrels, I know how to get rid of them for good.... but it includes killing them.
But, before you do that, have you tried moth balls in the attic? There are a lot of animals that hate the smell of moth balls and stay away.

Sandie,
Great Halloween pics. We also have a trap like that but for raccoons. They could destroy all of our chickens in one night.
Hang in there!

Glad your computer is now your friend. Cute squirrels, we don't have squirrels in our attics in Phoenix, just roof rats, yuck!!! My purpose in life? To be the best that I can be.

Squirrels in the Attic - sounds like it could be a Stephen King novel. We had one last year, but I think it was a homing squirrel; I must have caught and released it 4 or 5 times.

I used to think squirrels were cute. Now they've been demoted to rats with furry tails.

I love your flamingo! I have a friend who would love that even more.

Did you climb the rock wall too? I always have my camera so that I can use that as an excuse to stay grounded. ;-)

I remember the Teaberry shuffle and as one who doesn't enjoy gum, Teaberry is special to me because it is the only flavor I like.

As for you and the squirrels and contemplating your purpose....don't over think this. I think the squirrels are just around to remind us that we are both nuts and therefore very attractive! LOL!!!

Beth said she remembers that gum....I don't really care for gum....Beth says it isn't good for me. So you have a Squirrel Hotel....sounds like business is going VERY well! Congrats on you new venture....ha ha!

Well, my dark and twisty mind is now locked on an image of a spinning bird feeder and squirrels being flung through the air. LOL
Glad GS had a fun Halloween.

Glad your husband got your comments working right for you. In the scope of htings, it's a small one, but it is the small joys we appreciate.

I remember my parents having chipmuncks in their attic. they got one of those ultrasonic things and that seemed to work. Dang rodents!

Dear Sandie, it's always a joy to read your posts, they bring such light and warmth. I'm glad Rick fixed the issue for you :) Nice photo's - I like the one of the birds in the feeder. Have a lovely Day! Hugs x

You made a good decision on the comments! Love how you put it, almost like that t-shirt, "Kill them all and let God sort them out." HA! Cannot believe you've had that many squirrels in your attic!!! Maybe they're hatching from eggs up there and not getting in from the outside anymore. Glad your hubby solved your problem. I actually signed up to receive my comments via email and have NOT received any yet! Been a few days. I thought I did it right, need to find some time to go back over it all again. Have a good day, enjoy some of that candy!

So I take it I wasn't the only one who had trouble commenting last weekend? Sorry to hear that but so happy things are fixed!!

Love the pics from your GS and Disco and the Squirrel! Looks like a fun Halloween.

Who knew that those cute little animals (rodents?) with the fluffy tails would be so pesky! Love the bird feeder concept.
Your flamingo is just too good!

HOORAY, I am so happy it is fixed!!! So Comcast was putting your comments into spam, then why didn't they show up in the spam folder? NOT fair for them to change things and not inform their customers!! Hey, didn't I tell you about the squirrels?? You have to take them a bit over 25 miles away if you don't want them coming back. They have a homing system built in and will return time and again if you don't take them over 25 miles. My friend and her husband cart them all that way and it works. If you don't take them over 25 miles, you might as well forget it, they will come right back.

We had trouble with mice once. We called a guy and he put steel wool in all the places the mice could enter. Don't know if that will help you. I hope that is the last squirrel for you!
I wish climbing walls would have been around when I was young!

I was wondering how Andy would dress for Halloween! No costume for Chatty? ... or Disco?
So glad to hear those computer woes are behind you ... yea, Rick!

Argh to squirrel battles! With our house, it isn't that they get into the attic. (And I'm such 'fraidy cat that would probably scare me if it were. The main attic is adjacent to my bedroom. I would hear it in the middle of the night. Yikes!)

But anyway, our issue is that they like to chew on our porch columns. So far, I'm winning with cayenne pepper. They are winning with post damage.

It's a nobel battle but I fear you are ill equipped to wage war against the mighty squirrel :)
I think you should turn Disco loose up there with carte blanche to do as he will with those furry tailed rats :)

Okay, you have to get a video of squirrel swinging on the bird feeder! I go nuts when something happens with the blog. Sad to say it is my life. Love the flamingo, that is too cute! Can't get over the squirrels in your attic.

So glad that you got your problem sorted out Sandie -good on your husband for working on it.

Lovely photos of a lovely family
great to see them all having fun.

We don't have problems with squirrels here,
that is probably why all our birds are so fat!!

Happy Wednesday

As cute as they are, fun to watch, they are "a nightmare"...they bring fleas to your yard < and doggie> they eat your electrical wires, nest in your attics with their insatiable hunger and need to chew ... I have plenty of these awesome God created creatures in my yard for I have several Oak trees and right now with all those acorns on the ground....well Sandie I am right there with you ..
I do not even put out the birdseeds right now ...they will eat it up within an hour ...
Patience my dear friend patience and reading up on them ...and Nay I say ... fighting squirrels is NOT your purpose! LOL

LOVE the flamingo decoration!! MOST creative! Looks like a fun halloween was had by all!

So happy you're getting your emails now...finally! Cute pic of your daughter and grandson. Love the flamingo! I'm happy to hear things are getting better with the squirrel situation. You know I love squirrels and other wildlife. I can't really blame a mama for trying to find the safest place for her babies, but I don't let them nest in my house either.:)
My squirrels and birds eat the seed together. I'll have to post some pics of it...really cute! Happy November Sandie!

Yes! Glad you solved the comment issue - and that you've decided to let us continue to leave our *two cents* on your blog!

Looks like Disco is not only a candy thief - he evidently is very interested in "squirrel candy bars with nuts" - I think I heard him licking his chops.

We've done battle with raccoons at our house. And I just noticed that the neighbor across the street put up those metal things on their palm trees to keep the rats from getting into their rafters. Great, now I suppose they'll try to move in here. Maybe I can fool them with a "NO VACANCY" sign???

Do battle, Mrs. Amazon Warrior.

So glad the traps actually worked. A squirrel in a cage would drive my dogs completely out of their minds, but I would love to have one for just a couple of days.

The picture of your grandson with with Halloween candy reminded me of when I was a child, the day after Halloween was a day off of school due to All Saints Day (Catholic) - me and my neighbor friends would gather in one or the other's backyard and dump are pillowcase of candy out and compare and chew away. Good memories.
