Fun Friday

KNITTING GONE TOO FAR! :) :)

Thank you dear Jean!

My grandson is now ready for Christmas - he built this out of legos. He's sleeping. Do you see Santa? And the Christmas tree? And to the back left id a fireplace for Santa! Are you ready?
Thank you dear grandson.

Thank you Sandra - Madsnapper

Bagpiper at a Funeral

As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a Pauper's' cemetery in the back country.

As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions.

I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch.

I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play.

The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I've never played before for this homeless man.

And as I played 'Amazing Grace,' the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head hung low, my heart was full.

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I never seen nothin' like that before and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years."

Apparently I'm still lost....it's a man thing.
Thank you Jerry.

The Horniest Man On The Earth !
Thank you Ann and Jerry.

Please tell your grandson how impressed we all are (unless it would embarrass him that you've shown us) and thanks once again for the jokes.

I am printing a copy of the knitted shorts picture and taking it to my knitting group. Hehehehe!

I always enjoyed building with Legos when my kids were young. We still have a couple of giant plastic containers full of Legos in the attic. I think your grandson did an excellent job. Maybe he'll let you use that as a Christmas decoration this year.

GS's Lego creation was so cute, Sandie! Absolutely not ready for Christmas, nor have any Christmas spirit, but that's okay, I'm sure I'll get some soon.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Isn't it exciting when you have a Grandchild that still believes in Santa. It is no fun when they stop believing...

Those shorts are so awful! My kids loved Lego too, he did a good job with Santa. I also loved the bagpipe joke. That was great.

Loved your post - as always. Those shorts put me off my bed-night snack however.

Those shorts are eye catching. Ray would never wear them.
Andy has done a lovely job on his Christmas house, children make Christmas come to life.
Oh that homeless mans grave and the bagpipe story was so stirring. Recently a man who had started to attend our church and who I never met died. The church paid for and performed his funeral. They said only a handful went. I didn't realise his story of lonliness and isolation or I would have gone also.I never met him, apparently he would leave straight after the service, and kept tp himself. There is much sadness in life. xxxx

oh those short are too much...lol
good job on the lego creation by your grandson

Ah, my irreverent little friend. First of all, those knitted shorts are really creepy. Do you think he's wearing knitted boxers??

GS is a boy after my own heart. We LOVE Legos in our family (even the 25 and 28-year olds). He's done quite a good job on this Christmas vignette. Where's Disco? Oh wait, he's probably under the covers with your grandson.

The bag piper story. Oh, I hate how easily I get sucked into your stories. From a tear in my eye to a belly laugh - in two seconds flat!!

:)
