Tuesday I mentioned our squirrel proof bird feeder. It didn't deter the squirrels the first time, but this crop of squirrels it has deterred. Wait a minute 0 I wonder if I am sending them to our attic instead?

Got some tips we will be using for our squirrel hotel and a few friends mentioned they would like to see how the squirrel proof bird feeder works. Here it is. Be prepared to laugh.

And no squirrels were harmed in the making of this video. lol

Thought for the day - this past month more of my blog friends have had issues to be prayed over. I mean big issues. So silently asked for - some for friends - cancer - mental pain - money problems - frustrations. I think it has been a rough go of things. And last night I prayed a long time. And I know for a fact they have a lot of other blog friends praying for them too - not just me.

My hope is that you have a good day today - just think about this one day - and that you are 'able' enough to see some things in it that makes you happy. Things you might be grateful for. Know you are not alone.

"I have no trouble with my enemies. I can take care of my enemies all right. But my... friends. They're the ones that keep me walking the floor nights!" ~ Warren G. Harding

I believe that is the job of a friend - to walk the floor at nights some times. Anyone can be an acquaintance - it takes effort to be a friend.

You're a good friend, Sandie. Love you...

I may have to look into getting one of those feeders.

I have also noticed lately that many blogging friends are in dire straights of one kind or another. I have been praying too.

May today be a good day...or at least a better day for everyone.

Hahaha.... I have seen that happen to squirrels before. I think it was on funny videos on TV.

Hope those buggers stay out of your attic, they can do so much damage and cause fires by chewing the wires.

It does take effort to be a friend and to have a friend, but finding someone worth sharing those efforts with is a very special thing.

Sandie,
Good luck with the squirrels! Keep telling yourself..."I am smarter than a squirrel!" ha. (and if you can spell squirrel, you are smart, too!)

We used to feed the squirrels. They're pretty smart creatures and soon or later they'll figure out a way. I don't feed squirrels or birds anymore because I don't think it's fair with my cats in the yard.

Thank you for your prayers!

LOVE that video. The last few seconds - just too funny!
I think it is so wonderful that through this blogging community we are able to help and support each other. I know that I have formed some friendships that have really helped me.
Have a great day :)

that is tooo funny with the squirrel flipping around. lots of giggles. and looks like the perfect way to keep them from eating the seed, of course they might be eating the wiring in your ceiling. you are so right about all the friends and family and blog land needing prayers, everyone i know or talk to has a prayer need. keep praying

Amen about walking the floor over your friends! Now to head to the video and laugh over the squirrel repellent feeder.

That video is so funny. The squirrels were ingenious--trying all different kinds of tactics.

It is amazing to me that blog friends are so good--you praying for people with whom you are linked only by computer. God will bless you for your effort.

That was so hysterical! And your statement of friendship is really true. I've been praying for quite a few friends of mine lately. Hope your day is good!

That's the first feeder I've seen that really works to deter those rodents.

No squirrels were harmed in the filming? Pity. :)

That squirrel looks very familiar. Yes, yes, that is him. That's our Hermie, or is is Joey, or Bernie, or Ralph. They are all brothers you know and nothing stops their quest for food. They have broken a few squirrel-proof feeders, but don't go near the squirrel feeder we put up for them.

I knew of a lady once who asked God to wake up friends in the middle of the night to pray for her; so when I would wake up in the middle of the night, I'd say a prayer for her. We do need to do life with friends at our side, encouraging them, praying for them, helping as we can. It is sad times we live in; so much going on. But we just continue on and trust in God; what else right?

This was just what I needed to hear today! It is so true, it is our friends that keep us up and worried (as well as family, but that goes without saying). Thank you Sandie for your comforting words and we had a yankee clipper. The squirrels always seemed to know when it ran low on batteries! Ann

I LOVE squirrels! I have many for friends. It is so nice that we all have special people in our lives that care enough to pray for us....

Oh, yes, Sandie, anyone can be an acquaintance, but it takes effort to be a friend. I think that's why most people have so few true friends. It's just easier to be an acquintance, isn't it?

Want to know how I dealt with the squirrels awhile back. At that time, we had a fountain near our bird feeder, and the fountain was turned on and off through a switch in the house. Well, if I would see a squirrel getting ready to jump from the fountain basin to the bird feeder, I would turn the fountain on...the sudden noise/action of the water would startle the squirrel and he would run away. Of course, he probably came back 2 minutes later when I wasn't looking anymore.

Blessings and hugs,
Patti

New follower! I've been going through some major growth now that I've put my first novel out for the world to read. During this process I've found a FRIEND. A woman I've laughed with, cried with, and argued with (dang writing critiques). Your post on the friend thing hit close to home for me. Thanks!
